Ankle still hurts?

Well I sprain my ankle like its been like over a month now and it still hurts I used R I C E for the first while but it still hurts now like yesterday I was jump roping and now it was killing me today should I be more comitted to the rehabilation excercises? I want to loose weight and am so tired of not doing any cardio because before it I was very active and tips? is this normal?
 
so you did RICE during the first week of the injury, after that the next step would be limited mobilization for 1-2 weeks. if you don't want to do that, which you just might have too. next would be stretches and toe raises. also it's not uncommon for a sprained ankle to take up to 2-3 months before totally healing, enough in which you can run or jump rope.
if you don't stick to your rehab now it will take even longer to heal overall.
i'm all about pushing through the pain but not so much when it's a structural issue if that makes sense.
 
from the sound of it there is no ligament or cartilage problems. if thats the case you will have a complete recovery, so yes it will absolutely get better and soon if we can just keep you on the slow train.
