Ankle injury due to spinning?

Hi all,
I recently took up spinning and I have been doing it about 2/3 times a week and i truly enjoy it. However, my left ankle has been bothering me since last week and I am not sure what happened. Could it be that the strap on the pedal wasn't tight enough? Should I back off until the pain is gone?
Appreciate your input.

I'm definitely not qualified to diagnose the injury, but you should definitely take it easy until the ankle is feeling better.
I've not done a spin class, ever, but I've seen them done. They look brutal, and its just the sort of thing that could get an ambitious novice hurt. Its a lot like lifting really heavy weights...it takes a combination of muscle, skeletal, and tendon/ligament force to move weight (or pedal in spin class), and very often the body isn't completely in harmony...the muscles are stronger than the ligaments/tendons, and you end up injured. That's one reason you have to warm up, but also gradually increase activity and intensity.

If its still 'bothering' you after 7-10 days, I'd see about having it checked out.
