My name is Amber, and I am starting a medically supervised weight reduction program. I have learned (the hard way) that I have to have accountability!!
Usually my husband is good accountability, but with weight...no. He does not want to tell me not to eat something or ask my weight...because he is a smart man who realizes men get in big trouble for that!
So I decided to put it all out here for others to critique and question. If I could find an accountability partner with similar goals, that would also help!
On my Saturday weigh in at Professional Weight Management, I weighed 239.8 pounds, fully dressed (jeans and shoes). I am 5'1", so this is WAY too heavy. I have PCOS and insulin resistance, which compounds the problem. I have gained 40 pounds in 2 years, going from size 16 to size 22. It must come off!!!!
My doctor originally said my ideal weight would be 112-132. However, my body composition work came back saying my lean body mass is 129 pounds on it's own. To weigh 112, I'd have to chop off a leg! To weigh 132, I would have only 3 pounds of body fat, which is not healthy. What I have learned is that height and weight charts are often wrong, because there is more to be considered. My ideal weight is actually between 140 and 155. I am trying to be 145 at the end of the year. That's 95 pounds in 32 weeks, averaging 3 pounds per week.
Currently I am on a structured diet, including two "medically designed" snacks and three of my own meals a day. I am also exercising 30-45 minutes 4-5 times a week.
Well, I think that covers it for an introduction!
