Am I working my abs too much?

I do a full body workout twice a week with some abs exercises included, but I want to work my abs three times a week aside from these work outs is that too much?

I dont think so. The abs are a postural muscle that are quite hard to fatigue. I personally never work my abs more than four times a week.

3 times per week is fine. What types of exercises are you planning? How many sets and reps?

Best wishes to you!

So if I understand you correctly, you want to work your abs 5x/week?

Anything I've read states that, like any muscles in your body, abs need some rest too. Also keeping in mind structured reps and good form. 100 crunches in bad form won't do anything. Also, diet is just as important to abs as exercise. Takin' off that extra "layer" will start to reveal those muscles.

I do 3x20 ball crunches, 3x10 (50,60,70# pyramid) upward rows in my standard workouts 3x / week. I also try to keep my knees slightly bent and abs tight-in during any standing lift - that way the abs are always being worked, even if it's only secondary.

3x ab workouts a week is fine.

Just remember that 1,000 crunches doesn't give you a six pack...awesome abs are made in the kitchen, not with countless ab exercises.

Three times a week is not alot. You can work your abs everyday if you want, though it's not necessary.

The general rule is if your abs are still sore, than it's not ready to be trained yet.

My sister used to do ab exercies twice a day for faster results, but i've sprained my stomach from overuse. Of course, what's too much for me may not be too much for you.
