am i using weights correctly??

Hi, I really need help and I hope someone out there can help me. Ive recently started working out at the gym and have been doing it for 3 days a week for the past 2-3 weeks. Now heres the problem. The first day I did 30 min on the stair climber and 15 on the bike.. the next day i felt sore and could feel my abs and my leg muscles, tight. And after that ive been doing weights.. Kinda like a ceruit type of thing and at first i did 1 set each then raised to 2 sets. I am not sore at all the next day and cant figure anything out. Seems like Im doing something wrong. I even changed the weights on a few and still nothing... The only plces i feel working is the arms and upper chest... Whats up with that?? Can someone please help??

not really sure of all the names... rowing, shoulder press, some ab machine that theres a weight that goes on your chest as u sit and u gotta push forward, one another one where ur pushing a weight out with your legs, a few bicept machines, sorry im really bad with names. all of the weights though u gotta use that pin to put int he blocks of weights, so im not actually putting weights on anything its all there. I know theres alot of arm machines and only a few leg and abs. Its at the ymca not a regular health club. but i was told to do 15-20 and not go over that and when it comes to easy too increase the weights. I dont know if maybe im not doing enough reps or if maybe the weights are too light, but they dont feel too light which is why im not understanding why Im not feeling it

It sounds like you are a true beginner and there isn't anything wrong with that. The best and safest thing you can do is find someone knowledgable to help you hands on. 80% of the people in the club and gyms I trained at had no idea what they were doing and the worst thing is they'd pass the misinfo onto other unsuspecting people. Create a plan, are you trying to tone, add some mass, lower your body fat %, fit into some new clothes. When you have that figured out it will greatly help whoever shows you the ropes. Hope this was helpful
