Am I Over reacting?

Hey all. I just joined this forum today and I have lots of questions. I started working hard 2 weeks ago and doing 2 sets of 30 minute runs at 4.5mph. I can't say that I've been eating the best, but I seem to be gaining weight. Like this week for example. I've read that it's okay to have one binge day where you don't eat STRICT healthy foods, which I did on Wednesday. I can admit that I did eat a lot. But today, Friday, I weighed 139, whereas my lowest this week was 134.5? Why is that?

Are you drinking enough water? water weight can cause flucutations. Make sure you drink at least a half a gallon a day to make sure your not retaining any water.

I drink a lot of water but as I do, I gain weight. I know it makes sense but meh XD I don't think I drink enough though. Is it normal for what I described?

yes very much so. Body weight can fluctuate 6 lbs easily. Don't necessarily believe your scale, believe how your clothes fit and how you look.

Lol okay. I mean when I saw 139 on the scale I literally freaked out. Heh I'm so bad at this stuff. I'm not sure how my clothes feel but I know I need to work my abs for sure. I did your Day 1 part of the exercise with 15lb weights. My gosh was it hard!

First of all...you definately need to count calories in my opinion, at least at first to get a rough idea of what your currently eating. After doing this it may suprise you as to how much or how little you are actually eating.

My take on "cheating" - I do not believe in a "binge day". To me this is just ridiculous and not worth the setback for me. I prefer the term "cheat meal" and I limit them to once or twice a week. The idea is to eat something I want that's most likely bad for me but I still do NOT exceed my calories for the day. For example my typical meal is around 350 calories. Translated into Taco Bell that's not even 3 regular hardshells. So be careful when you cheat. IMO binging all day once a week will bring your progress to a slow crawl.

Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time of the day wearing the same clothes. You body weight can shift 5 lbs easily during the day. I usually weigh myself in the morning, and it's been pretty consistent for me. you might wanna try doing that.

Yeah, the lowest I was this week was 134.5 and my highest was 136.5 I hope it doesn't stay there but I think by tomorrow i'll be 137 :( Because I usually only lose 1 pound during the night and I'm pretty sure that pattern will be the same. Thus, in a way I am gaining weight oO; Maybe it's just from that stupid binge day.
