Over the last two months, I've been using the Lose-It app on my Iphone to estimate how much I should be eating. I've gone down from 254 to 239 lbs in that time, by eating about 2100 calories-which was supposed to give me a 2 lb loss/week (it changes based on weight).
In month 1, I was making up my exercise calories lost (i.e., if I burned 300 calories, I'll eat an extra 300 calories). I lost between 1.5-3 lbs/week doing that, until one week, when I gained 0.5 lbs.
Because of that, in month 2, I decided to not make up those calories burned. So, if I only ate 2100 calories and burned 300/day, I netted about 1800. During the first week, I lost 4 lbs. During weeks 2-3 it was 1 lb, and last week was 0.5 lbs. So, I feel that 4 lb week was an abnormality.
So by forgoing eating those extra calories, have I put myself at too much of a deficit where I've slowed down my metabolism? I've been tracking/weighing everything I've eaten, even if its just one almond. If you need to know anything else, please let me know. Thanks.
