Sport Am I Drinking too Much water?

Sport Fitness
I am unclear of this I drink about 1 gallon to 2 gallons a day. Some people have told me Its good, The more water I have in me the less fat I have in me. And some have said its bad, That it makes me heavier and It makes it harder to do cardio and Jogg. So Is it good or bad? Should I drink Less? Maybe more? I can drink 1 and a half gallons with no problem I love water. Always have.

Well you can take in to much water it is possible but with exercise and your amount of intake that isn't a concern. Water doesn't make you heavier, you may want to watch how much you are drinking right before and when exercising to afford cramping.

The key point though is if you want to reduce water retention, drink water. So you look like you have that covered. So I say nay to your nay sayers;)

you have to drink silly quantiries of water to make it bad for you. A litre in the build up to exercise is perfect and drink steadily throughout the day. it wont make you heavy, you'll just pee a lot :D

you'll just pee a lot :D

This is so true! I spend so much of my day going up the stairs to the toilet, I must be burning a huge number of extra calories right there!! ;)

Another tip, try to drink cold water. Your body then has to heat it up, which burns calories. Sure, it may not make a huge difference but, every little helps and it requires no effort on your part.

It's all habit based. Just get in the habit, and you will be fine. Carry a bottle with you everywhere you go. It doesn't matter if I'm in class, at work, at gym, in bed, there's always a bottle of water within reach.
