Always feeling tired and now having issues with my skin!

I dont know why, but I feel tired ALL the time.

I have a baby and job to take care of. I work 7 hours per day, 5 days a week. From 7.30am to 2.30pm. I have a 6 months old baby too.

Since I started dieting, I feel I have no energy whatsoever. At the end of the day, I lack of energy to put my baby to sleep. IMAGINE!! :(

I have also seen unexpected changes in my skin. My lips are VERY VERY dry. I have been putting vaseline on it for quite a bit now, and it is still dry and itchy, ahh and chopped. Also, my acne is bad. Not that bad, but my face is getting very very dry. Like my cheek and forehead. WHY?

In one of my cheeks, pimples are visible now but arent popped out. IYKWIM! Forgot also to mention that my eyes are also kindda dry because they feel itchy?? and tired?? :(

I have been thinking of getting my vitamins levels checked. you think this has something to do with what I have been dealing with? I read that Vit D is essential for the skin and avoids it from getting dry.

I am frustrated because I feel I am becoming a different person, and its affecting my self esteem.

My first thoughts as well. no fat and low calorie diet would explain your symptoms if it's diet related.

Hello Suzan,

Are you doing exercise, or just dieting alone? I assume you're on a low-calorie diet, and you're not exercising at all.

The problem with diets low in calories is that they have the negative effect of slowing down your metabolism. The metabolism is the rate at which you burn calories (energy expenditure).

There is a lot of science behind what happens to the body when you go on low-calorie diets. To keep the post short, the solution is to raise your calorie intake and exercise more.

The problem with your skin might be dehydration. Try to drink more water, and see how it goes.

Hope it helps,
Rick.

What are you eating? Are you getting enough protein and healthy fats?

I wont lie, i dont even remember what I eat. I dont have much time to plan for a meal, so I just pop in my house and get a steak/chicken or fish fillet and steam a few veggies or do a green salad. I do snack on fruits, sometimes. I am not having any kind of sweets, and at dinner I just have a light sandwish. At breakfast what I have is a toast with light cheese. I drink like 3 cups of cappuccino at work, but I know and admit that I havent been drinking much water. With a temp of 50 degrees celsis and ABOVE, I should be drinking more than 2L, but I doubt I am drinking 1L :willy_nilly: :willy_nilly:

I tried walking for a few days, but I end up exhausted!!! and this is no good with a 6 months baby! I actually dont have much time to exercise so that's why I lower the calories and not exercise sometimes, well.. most of the times.

I do need to drink water. I know I am not drinking enough. Probably less that 1L per day when I should be drinking more than 2L! because temp here is 50 degrees C and even above that.!

I'm not a doctor so if these problems continue I would go see one.

Now my advice. I agree with what is said above. You probably need some healthy fats in your diet. Try some nuts, seeds, natural peanut butter, avocados. Fat doesnt make you gain weight, extra calories makes you gain weight.

Also, you are probably dehydrated with drinking that coffee and not much else. Coffee is a diuretic. Start drinking water. Force yourself if you have to.

If you cant remember what you ate try keeping a journal. Write it down in a small note book. Keep it in you purse. It well help you a lot.

Good luck and keep us posted.
