Hi all!

Just a quick intro from a newbie in Florida.

I started my weight loss/fitness journey (and it was a heck of a journey) on Feb. 1, 2006. Partly for health (I was "pre" everything and a little scared) and partly for appearance (I live in a city where being a single, short, fat, flabby female was NOT fun).

The last 12 months have been one of those cliched "lifestyle changes": I admitted to myself that the magic pill, shake, bar did not exist and happiness did not lie in the bottom of a potato chip bag...I gave up soda, sugar and most other processed foods. I also, kicking and protesting the whole way, finally accepted that I couldn't get the body I wanted without sweat...I joined a gym, embraced weight lifting and learned to run.

With a week left to go, I am 3 pounds away from my final weight loss goal. The last couple of months have been more about shaping and and definining and getting "aquainted" with my changed body...now it's time to make the final push...start counting the calories and step up the work-outs to final goal.

Good luck to everyone and I look forward to gettin to know ya!

Wow you did a lot of hard work to achieve what you have so far and im sure you'll get those last few steps soon enough. Congratulations, i applaud you for being able to stick to what you have done and lose all the weight you have worked so hard to get off. You're an inspiration for a lot of people.

cym - congratulations on a job VERY well done! It sound like you did everything the right way and you have very nearly achieved your goal weight. 59lbs so far if my math is okay? And body fat is great! I like the liftting weights not donuts line too :) Good luck in reaching your goal weight. Sounds like it'll be a cinch now - only 3lbs left! It's always inspiring to see a success story! Thanks,
Rachie :)

Congratulations on a job well earned!
Welcome to the WLF and best wishes to you as you make that final push towards your goal!

Wow good job!! I'm glad to read about success stories...they keep me motivated, and by reading yours...it has made me more eager to lose my weight....congrats again on the weight loss

Great work!

Once you hit that goal, you have to be careful not to fall into the trap, though. If you've made the lifestyle change, make sure you stick to it, or those pounds will sneak right back onto you.

Awesome work.. and such a motivation!

Txs guys! And Fourth%100...in the beginning it was all about a number on the scale and a certain jeans size....I think if that had remained my only motivation right about now I'd be relaxing into a feeling of "ahh finish line and Miller time"...instead I discovered weight training fairly early on and now that most of the fat is gone I can actually see what "I'm working with"....and I'm freshly excited about moving on to the next tier of improvement.

That's awesome to hear. Exactly the right attitude. You'll be just fine :)
