Almost 20, losing weight,... nice...

Hey all! I'm new and was just out searching the web for some new healthy recipes when I came across this forum.

I'm 19 and have struggled with weight my whole life. It's been terrible, but about 5 weeks ago I finally said enough is enough.

My initial plan was to eliminate sugary drinks, ALL fried foods, and anything else that looked like it would give me a heart attack if I ate it.

It's working.

I start off on my scale "Error 2" meaning I was OVER 350 pounds.

I now weigh 330lbs and couldn't be happier. (That the weight is coming off... )

All of this is from just changing my eating habits... no exercise at all besides normal daily things.

Basically my daily intake looks like...

Breakfast
bowl of cheerios or honey bunches of oats with 1/2% milk

Snack
piece of fruit(banana, apple, pear.. etc)

Lunch
turkey sandwich with whole grain bread and mustard(sometimes a small salad with fat free dressing to go with it)

Snack
100 calorie yogurt or another piece of fruit if im hungry before dinner

Dinner
Grilled chicken marinated in light Italian and low sodium soy sauce with lots of veggies

And then if I get hungry again after dinner, I snack on some carrot sticks or i'll put a bag of light popcorn in the microwave.

I cheated once when my mom wanted pizza... so we ordered a medium thin crust veggie pizza with feta cheese... Not sure how bad that was for me, but it did not seem too bad? (Instead of the large pepperoni with extra cheese and butter crust we had in the past! LOL)

Its a pretty awesome feeling actually eating healthier and not feeling bad about it.

HOPEFULLY I can get under 300 within the next 2 months, that is my goal. I know to achieve that I need to start working out... :p

See ya and thanks for reading!!!!!

Congrats on starting a healthy new lifestyle! It's a big step you're making and I know you will succeed If you just stick with it. You're already making great progress, so that's a really good sign. Hey, do you like skim milk? Having skim in the morning instead of 1 or 2 percent is one more way to cut out a few extra calories. To start off, for some easy exercise, try just walking! Walk for as long as you can/want and that should help speed things up. I'm here for you if you need to talk or have any questions or anything.

Congrats on the weight you've already lost! and welcome, welcome. This is a great place I'm new here also, and I've learned a lot in just one week. I'm also glad to see I'm not the only 20 year old in the 300's.
thats a sigh of relief!
Again congrats! :)

Hey =)

Yea after seeing a couple late teen/20's on the web in the same weight situation as me, it just makes me want to succeed even more in losing the weight. I've always been embarrassed and ashamed of my weight, but places like this are great because I can talk about it without worries. (maybe thats just me though =D )

Oh yea, my name is Justin.

Thanks for the welcome Marissa :)
