all the help i can get !

hi. first time post.
i'm at a point where i dont know what to do:
quickly-i'm 37, female, 125, apple shape. My weight has not changed in 6 months, but my hip/waist has-was 36/29, now its 35/32. Reason-i had to stop aerobic exercise, mine was walking, because of a tumor on the ball of my foot, it hurts with every step, no insurance so cannot afford surgery yet. Big bummer? i'm alergic to chlorine so swimmings out. My waist is growing, i'm slowly becoming more and more lethargic, but don't know what to do about it. All i read is that the only way to lose body fat is aerobic, but what if a "disability" prevents it? and i know weight training burns calories, but if i can't lose the fat on top of the muscle.....??
Hope you can see my dilemma-running out of solutions.
Any and all help will be LOVED as my waist and age aren't ceasing to grow anytime soon.
Thanks so much-alyse.
p.s....i'm posting in 'at home' because my walking was indoors, apartment hallways, and i supped with aer.tapes 2-3 x a week.

There are bike like exercise apparatus that are made to be "peddaled" with your arms. You can create your own cadio with any weight training exercises you can do by doing high reps or circuit training.

Hi alyse!

Sit ups work wonders! At first, it maybe difficult but in no time it will come easier to you!

Also, you can try this! Lie flat on the floor(face up), legs together straight out and slowly lift your feet up about six inches off the floor and hold for a count of 15-20! Slowly lower your feet back to the floor and repeat 24 more times. Do this every other day and soon you'll begin to see results! :) Hope this helps you!

Sincerely,
Stacey

That seems to be working for me! Plus, you gotta learn to eat right! Well, not right, noone does. You have to learn to eat BETTER!

Sincerely,
Stacey :)

Weight training is better for losing fat than aerobics could ever hope to be. When you do aerobics your burning calories of course, but when you stop and your heart rate drops so does the calorie burn. Weight lifting causes microscopic tears in the muscle, and the body spends the next few days repairing those tears, which means your body is burning extra calories days after your workout. So when you weight train every couple of days you keep your body in an almost constant state of calorie burn.

totally agree with silvorus...im a girl who is so allergic to anything aerobic....I hate the time and the effort...started weight training a few months ago and im down 4 dress sizes!!! no eating changes no aerobic...nothing..it almost seems too easy!

Doing this made me decide to do gym instruction and personal training so am now totally changing career! Thats how well it worked for me!

But make sure when you do you're weights, your not lying to yourself! do your sets, full reps with full weight...if you cheat the only person you cheat is yourself! be prepared to have pain in your muscles and work hard! the pain does get addictive and soon you wont feel good unless a little bit of you feels a bit tight!
