Hello everyone!

I'm a newbie to this site, but have been losing weight since April of this year. Lately I have been told that I am starting to inspire people to lose their extra pound-age, so I guess writing a 'blog' couldn't hurt anyone!

I'm 5'5", 20 years old, and my heighest weight was.... 237!
BMI: 39.4....seriously obese

EKKK.:ack2:

How did it happen? No idea. But, I can tell you that I felt terrible, every day. My weight was consuming my life, and I realized I'd have to change it or accept the fact that I would just get fatter for the rest of my life.

Of course, being 20, I couldn't just give up my youth so easily. I had already wasted my teen years on being insecure and having low self esteem because of my weight and refused to let it keep going. So, to start things off I went on a 14 day cleanse. During this period, I lost 33 lbs.

At 205 lbs, I decided it was time to get off the cleanse and begin the actual 'diet'. Through strict calorie counting and exercising (very light - walking - but for long amounts of time) I lost another 18 lbs.

Currently, I am 187 lbs. In the span of 3 months, I have lost 50 pounds and don't plan on quitting any time soon.

It's been exciting, and frustrating at the same time. Plateau's are evil...but if you persist you can eventually break them.

Two days ago, I decided to go back on the cleanse again. I felt fantastic while I was doing it, so we'll see how that goes. I'll post some before/mid pictures once I figure this whole thing out.

Hey there and congrats on the weight loss. Ive read up on cleanses. I *attempted* to do a detox but that lasted 2 days. I ended up getting terrible migranes, no energy and feeling sick... not very good when you have an infant to take care of.

Id like to continue to read your journal. Me and you seem to have the same goals and have already accomplished the same weight loss in the same amount of time. I lost 50lbs since the end of February [thats when my son was born]. My goal is to get to 155. That is my pre-pregnancy weight and than once I get there, ill set new goals!

wow! I wish you the best with your journey! What exactly is a cleanse? I"m sure it consists of no or very little/specific food? I can't wait to read more!

Hey Guys!

Thanks for all the support! Sorry I didn't update sooner, since last Monday I have been working every day till 11:45pm. I'm SO exhausted. It was hard to focus on my weight-loss, much less anything else. But, I am happy to report I did lose 2 lbs since my last entry.

The cleanse I am doing is the oh so popular yet highly criticized "lemonade-diet" as they call it. I'm actually following the program from the original creator, via a book from the 1970's. The real "diet" or cleanse as it should be called dates back to the 1940's, and was used for medical reasons not weight-related reasons.

Everyday I drink a lot of water and teas, and a drink mix that consists of pure lemone juice, grade B maple syrup, and cayenne pepper. There is also a herbal laxative tea I'm suppost to use, but I find it conflicts with my work schedual...if you know what I mean LOL.

Personally, I would recommend it to anyone who is mentally strong enough to do a cleanse. I have seen the health benefits from it in my own body, and I think it has done more good than harm. It's not easy, but it gets easier after the 3rd day. Plus, the results are immedite and fantastic (from my experience), so you gotta give some effort for that. Nothing in life is free.

If you're interested, you can view the stages of the cleanse at this website:

Here is an interesting journal of someone who did the cleanse and experienced interesting changes in her body:

The cleanse is known for healing things you didn't even know you had something wrong with! Look it up for yourself, it's called "The Master Cleanse".

I know some people feel this is a bunch of crap, but I would completely disagree. Anyways, enough about this cleanse.

It was nice hearing from you guys and what some of you are going through now. And nice job on your weight loss Kasey23! 50 lbs! Doesn't it feel great?! :)

Tonight I am working again till 11:45pm. I have to walk to work today, its 5km away or 3 miles for the Americans here. I use this great website, , it lets you record where you are walking, and how many calories you'll burn walking that distance based on your weight. So, today I'll burn about 430 calories going to work. Not bad! I could use some exercise.

My BMI currently is 30.78, which is .78 over the obese category. I'm gonna make it my new short term goal is to get out of this nasty category!! I'm so close! I used to be almost morbidly obese..haha. Never going back.

Anyways, hope you are all doing well. Feel free to check out that cleanse!
