Ahem, my before pics, just to get me motivated!

I guess I will begin with the traditional storytelling before you guys behold my glorious splendor :leaving:. Well, my name is, Joel, and I have been trolling on this forum a time that I can't even remember, so a big thanks and congratulations to your guys success, wisdom, and for being so inspiring. I figured if I posted on here, it would be enough to jump start by own weight loss journey.

Ever since my teens I remember being a chubby fellow, but then about three years ago (I was around 290 pounds) I decided to loose weight, and managed to lose about 70 pounds. And it was simply awesome. I found myself shopping for clothes at bootlegger! Who would have thought! But my success was short lived, and I became comfortable and found myself overeating and making bad health choices. I always dismissed it, and simply thought I would just resume the next day, until it all my weight came back, plus some. I ballooned to 360 pounds (absolutely ridiculous and absurd, I know :blush5: ) I also met my current best friend then, who made eating easier, and we would spend almost every moment together sampling greasy goods together. Unfortunately, while she ate, she lost weight, while I gained. She is one of those people who can eat and eat and eat, and not see a pound. My weight has gotten to a point we're I'm embarrassed and frustrated to partake in the simple pleasures of life. I hope by posting this pictures I'm going to melt the pounds, and regain the discipline I once had.

You sound like lots of fun. Since you already know how great it feels when you lose weight, you have some motivation! Figure out just how you will lose the weight (AKA "a plan"), and go for it! You're in the right place for encouragement and information.

ps. youre going to be HAWT if you lose weight! not that you arent already aha
 
Hey. This is a great place to come for support. Losing weight is a process, so don't be too hard on yourself. You know where your at and what you want to do. You want to make a change, and that is terrific. Start with the basics, moving more (exercise), and keep track of what your eating (journaling, highly recommend). You can do anything :)

Don't drop the best friend - but get her to join you on your journey. She may be able to eat anything and not gain weight, however, eating healthy is something that will benefit both of you. Besides, everything is more fun doing it with a friend. :beerchug:


Start Lifting Weights!

Lean Proteins.

Drink Lots of Water.

Thanks for your awesome, very inspiring, if not overly complementary comments! It was very nice to read :)

I am going to start a journal, especially since it seems to work very well. I will make an entry every Sunday, which is the day I weigh in. Thanks for being so warm and welcoming, It's very nice to know such a community as this exists.
 
hey man good luck on everything. I know it's a little discouraging when you gain back the weight you lost but its a medical fact that you are able to lose the weight this time with more ease since you have lost it before. Keep your head up and will strong, you'll be feeling good in no time!

It sucks when you lose it and put it back on, but then again it also shows that you can do it :) I concur on the 'cute' front xD Good luck!
