Advice on routine-running only or running & cross trainer?

Hey,

I'm now trying to lose some body fat and want to know which of the best methods are the most effective. I realise this a widely debated subject and don't want to get into a discussion on fat burn zones and science etc…

Just want some simple advise as to which is more effective! :)

So I currently run around 5-5.5k (30mins) on the treadmill 3-4 times a week and some times do a few lengths in the pool afterwards. Would I be better reducing to a 20min run then doing another 15-20mins on the cross trainer? Or any other advise as to best spend my 30-45mins training?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

advice on fat burning

hi, i had aclient come to me in the gym the other day saying she has tried everything for fat loss so she came to me to seek advice.

so.. i know some P.Ts might sugest that this is wrong but here goes..
its an high impact interval training circuit between treadmill, rower and x trainer.
you start on treadmill@running pace with a 0.2% inc and run for 5 mins then with no rest straight onto rower high level for 5 mins then onto x trainer for 5 mins also high level and make sure your in your F.B zone.

then back through the sequence again adding more intensity each time.
yes it does hurt but its good fun because you can record your times down which notifys your fitness levels.:) :)

What to do

I would do the running for 15-20 and then the cross-training for the rest of the time. It's important to not let your body get use to any one exercise. This is what causes most plateaus. Keep changing what you are doing. For more .
