Advice needed for losing weight and getting in shape

Ive always been a pretty big guy, ~250-260 lbs, and recently started taking weight loss seriously. I'm already down 30 lbs. I really would appreciate some tips on becoming more athletic, flexable, and tips for going to the gym with those goals in mind. Thanks.

First off I would like to introduce myself: I am Kym and I have never had a weight issue until about 10 years ago. I am at my highest ever and I just kept denying it to myself that I needed to do anything about it. Long story short I am really motivated to get this junk off of me and have lost 10 lbs so far. I am a beachbody coach and wanted to know if you ever heard about them before? Have you ever heard of "Insanity"? Well that is a great workout with awesome results. You don't need any equipment, just your own body. If you are really motivated and have already lost 30lbs. then this would work great for you.
(removed) I am doing Brazil Butt Lift, Hip Hop Abs and Chalene Extreme so I know what they have to offer and there is alot of them.
Good luck on your journey and whichever path you choose to go on.

A well, active lifestyle is not hard to achieve – it is simply a matter of building some type of fun, leisure activities into your everyday life. Exercising with other people is a great way to stay motivated and is a great way to make new friends. Whether you desire any team sports or individual pursuits, the key is to choose any activity that you find appropriate, inspiring and pleasurable. Try to include some cardio in your training. Some form of cardiovascular activity is important for everyone and people who are unfit or overweight will benefit from this type of exercise more than most. Running can place stress on the joints of the hips and legs and is best avoided by anyone already at risk of joint problems. Rowing, cycling and cross training all provides the benefits of cardiovascular exercise without placing excessive stress on your joints and connective tissues.

Well, we all know that exercise is an important weight loss tool, but how much you need varies from person to person.

I recommend at least 250 minutes per week, which comes out to about 50 minutes, 5 days a week. If you're a beginner, start small, for example with 3 days of cardio for 15-30 minutes, gradually adding time each week to give your body time to adapt.
