Advice is always welcome

Hello all,

So Im 23 6 foot 3 and about 235lb, I just started working out again and plan on training for a 5k run some time this next year to prove to myself that I can still be in good shape. At one point in life I was actually in good shape but thats no longer the case any ways, My goal is to cut about 20 pounds. currently Im running 1.5 miles 2 times a week. Another day is for interval training, and two more are for lifting weights high reps low weight. I guess im looking for personal advice on supplements micro nutrients and so on. Any weight lifting routines to burn fat while still putting on mass is welcome.

Since I used to play football and track Im used to pushing my self pretty hard and today While i was running I thought i was going to pass out. How fast should I increase my mileage. Its especially hard for me since i know i have done better in the past. I dont want to push myself further than my body can take me but i wanna push as far as possible

Once again thanks for the advice

Sounds like you have an overall good plan - weights with cardio. Adding 10% mileage / week is a good increase. You might want to change your running plan - not go so hard, but go longer. 1.5 miles is not particularly far, but sounds like you are going really hard. Maybe mix longer, slower distances with more aggressive, high effort runs.
