advice for a friend

hello.
what does any1 recommend diet and training wise for a 18 year old male, 5'11, 203 pounds, not looking overly overweight coz quite stocky build anyway - but deff room for improvement. wants to lose body fat and gain a small amount of muscle.

how many calories per day roughly???.... how much protein???

and what about weight training... he doesnt have the most amout of time at all so i suggested splitting the days.

he is gonna do 3-4 30-40 minute cardio sessions a week. plus 1 2hour football training sesh a week. i told him not 2 try HIIT yet coz he is not the fittest person i know and i dont want him killin himself

i havent got a clue what to advise someone as i only know what works for me
