Advice for a college student

My name is Lauren and I'm a nineteen year old college student looking to lose about 30 pounds. I am 5'6 and about 160 pounds. My problem is that I live in a sorority house with a fully stocked kitchen just seconds away whenever I want it. We have a chef that cooks our meals for us which is actually not bad, pretty healthy controlled meals. However, the always available snacks is what kills me. I have no self control and when the food is there, I will eat it. Does anyone have any advice on how I can better control my calorie intake with snacks. I do go to the gym whenever I can, but because I don't have a strict regime, I don't think that this is helping. I'm hoping to start a new exercise and diet plan when I return to school after christmas break, but I don't know how I am not going to eat the potato chips and other snacks that are always there. Thanks!

Try reaching for fruits and veggies instead of chips and other bad things. I love snacking on sliced apples, oranges, baby carrots, and cauliflower(I actually think I only like to eat it because its fun to eat. Such a strange child I am.)

And maybe when you feel like snacking go for a walk, clean, or maybe even play a video games. Keep those fingers busy and away from snacks. :p

And maybe tell one of your friends to try to help you stay away from snacks. Like when you feel like snacking text them and etc.

Possibly get a pair of goal jeans(one size smaller) for inspiration and every time you think of snacking look at the jeans and they might be like a reminder. "Stay away from the snacks and soon you can wear me"

Hope that helped a little bit. xD
