Activating twitch muscle in arms

Hello i'm an avid golfer and i can't hit the golf ball very far though which is pissing of as i see my friends hit it twenty -thirty yards further any way i heard that you need to activate you fast twitch muscles to increase club head speed which makes you ht the ball further. Has anyone got any xercises that can be done from home as it's difficult for me to acces a gym that will manage to activate the fast twitch muscles? also are there any suppliments that i should take? Thanks for your help in advance.

clap push ups? All i know is low weight with fast speed of reps. Look up ballsitic training if you need more info or im sure there are alota members on here that know alot about it give it some time :D

Im a golfer to.

I found that my swing realy improved when I started to replicate the golf swing on a cable machine in 2 sections.

take a high cable and a regular bar and find a comfortable grip, and make your core muscle work together with your shoulders and arms to arc the bar down in a "golf swing" pattern.

Then the 2nd part, take a low cable and do the same but this time arcing up.

remember -
- always work both sides of your body the same
- use a heavy weight that you can manage 10 reps or less
- stay in the same position as you would if you were taking a normal swing.

Using a heavy weight teaches you how the muscles work together because you are doing the swing in slow motion. you will begin to understand what happens to your body when you doing it for real.
Plus your using weight so your building muscle and making your self stronger.
the fast twich muscle fiber stuff is not really relivant, its more to do with the swing.

If you're not doing aerobic activity(runing/jogging etc), you're using fast twich fibers (IIb). So any type of lifting is using fast twich.

Thnaks for your help!
you couldn't just tell me how far you used to hit the ball with your driver and how far you do now? Thanks

I think mimicing a golf swing is a bad idea. It will impair your technique and hand eye cornation.

Back excercises like BB rowing, Cable rowing, pullups, upright rows should help club speed. Some lower work would help, full squat, deadlift.
