Organic foods contain a greater proportion of nutrients than conventional foods, that we all know. Buying locally sourced food is a good way to keep your consumption web close to home, and more accountable. I myself try to ensure that there are as few steps as possible between me and the food I eat. I do the same thing with the water I drink. I don't see the point of eating healthily if I'm just going to ruin it with processed sugars in sodas, or allergens in wines, for example. I stick to water, and I want my water to be as close to its original state as possible. Using a Water For Life purifier in my home means that I am not reliant on dubious claims by wasteful water bottlers, or contributing to fossil fuel usage. It is as local as I can get, really.
