ABs

Recently rather rapidly I put on some fat in my gut area... COmpltley covering my abs... I want to know if tehres a godo way to lose the fat and make the AB's stronger and Bigger...
 
r u joking? 6.9% body fat and your abs are covered with fat? lolzz

um. continue doing exercises for your abs, eat differently, YOU probably cheated on food intake huh lol
 
Well, according to a body fat calculator... I have a 27 waste I'm 5'11 and I weigh 142 so it says I have 6.7 and 8 montsh ago my physician said I had 7%...... But Yeah I just finished my season from Gymnastics Swimmign and DIving... I have been eating not that much but everything I have been eatign has been stickign it seems like...

iono bouch chu, my abs are showing nicely at 9-11% bf

seems like u need to work out ur abdominal muscles more. seems what you have are just ribs? lolz. i mean i'm 5'11 too and i weigh 175 lbs. but i dont do gymnastics like u. but i do swim =]
 
I have very strong abs... From gymnastics its just I need to build them... I am thinking about going and getting protein shakes to eat with my meals and do 100 crunchs a day...

hmm, do you do any abdominal workouts other than crunches? =P oh and the protein shake idea is good
 
My friend told me to do akins stomach work outs... were you bend at teh waste touch your feet lay back dwon and do 100 of those 3 times a day...

i think you need to try various abdominal exercises, sticking with one will eventually not be as effective.

do you have a swiss ball at home?

No damn I dont hva eone of those... Anotehr question is when I do the crunchs or sit ups or what ever... to buiodl musle do I go as fast asd I can or long and slow?
 
when i do my ab workouts, i go for quality over quantity. instead of 100 crunches, i do like 20 or so per set and like do all of them at slow tempo. I try to use weights as well to raise the difficulty.

depends, building muscle takes a while, its losing the weight/fat that takes the least amount of time. Yes i'd recommend doing it slowly. when your doing situps/crunches.

honestly. i feel more burn in my ab area if i go slow. than if i went on a fast tempo.

since ur already doing alot of cardio , such as swimming for example. the best cardiovascular workout i'd say =] personally

another way to do the abs (not saying your way is wrong) is to treat them like normal muscles and go for the 8-12 rep range. Ab pikes ( check youtube) are great body weight exercises that are difficult and work all the abs.
Are you tensing the abs in the picture?
100 crunches is way to high a rep range- it won't do anything but endurance for them. Also, just because you have strong abs doesn't mean that they are big.
