abs and round bellys

I've been working out my abs for a while, and when i flex them they really show, in the periods that I haven't been eating for a while my abs still show even without flexing . However when I eat , it doesn't have to be a lot of food, just the normal amount of food necessery so the hunger goes away , my stomach becomes very round and not so nice. If I suck up the stomach it looks the way I want it to , but that's not what I wanna do every time. Any advice on how to deal this problem with round bellys. I'm 185 cm (6'2) and 77 kg ( 168 lbs) and I don't need to lose weight, I'll get too skinny that way, I might lose only few pounds or kilos if it helps. Any ideas or suggestions on how make the round belly flat and lean, tnx

Well IMHO I think that it is unavoidable, unless you become like Arnold sch. big. But basicly, its just the food pushing on your stomach, not a big deal in my book. I would just let it be, but if you want to try, basicly you need to make the stomach muscles bigger. If you can see them at rest when you havn't eaten, then logic would dictate that when you do eat the only reason you can't see them then is because the food is just moving your muscles in order to make room for the food. So if you make the muscles bigger and harder to slip aside, then you will get the look you want, better start doing your crunches now ;)

i know what works lay down, that is relax. your body speeds up the digestive processes when you are at rest that is why when you wake up in the am the abs look fab and not so nice when you are done with supper. the food has to go somewhere and if your running around your bod is using its efforts to do that think fight or flight- in reverse. it is the only way. so i guess women aren't the only ones worring about the tummy bulge!! who knew.

Vojdancov, the same very thing has happened to me!. It boils down to..the abs; like thighs or biceps after a while of working them out... get developed...but if you should stop working out...just like those bodybuilders who don't work out so much anymore..that muscle relaxes and can look flabby or lack definition. Our abs are neighbors with our intestines, stomach...so naturally the abs will poke out even more that they are also developed . When I wake up, I look fine ...then if I eat or during the day for whatever reason my lower abs and around my belly button bulge out!. Its suuuch a turnoff to me   But thats what I get for my furious abs working out. Fact is nobody really told me this kind of thing would result. It seems so common sense that its almost stupid for me not to have thought of it. But on the other hand time after time what we are indunated with images and promises of the "flat, hard, in-shape, washboard, etc" abs. No one really talks about all those guys and gals who have a little buddha belly as a result of the swelling and development of the ab/tissues. Thats why you'll see some body bodybuilder guys with a pouch....despite their powerful build. This is also why some people workout but take special care not to overwork or empasize their abs..especially the gluts. Try to KEEP THE FAT DOWN as much as healthy and reasonably possible for yourself. Also do excercise of inhaling (through nose) and exhaling (through nose) you pull your stomach way in towards your backbone and then up towards for ribs if you like. This is commonly call, among other terms Mulabhanda (the lift of the pelvic floor), Uddiyana bandha (a drawing in and up of the lower abdomen). This can be done in which you lean forward by having your arms/hands just below your thighs. This way you can do it with or with the pelvic tilt. The other one which is also yoga is on hands and knees you do the same ab excercise but you can arch your back up along with the pull in of your abs/exhale..just make sure that when you inhale/release that ab that you DO NOT ARCH FOR BACK! or else you'll be dropping weight on your lower back...unless you for one time you just want stretch you muslces in the opposite direction...best to not make it a habit..and do it gently. Otherwise keep the back relaxed but straight when on hand and knees. As long as you have no medical condition that this contradicts then. These excercises help train your abs to stay in and retain discipline. It a complex situation after training the abs in a way that make them standout, literally. (I'm still working on it!)
