Hi everyone

Any advice anyone can give me would be appreciated! =)

So I was previously a UK size 12 and got down to an 8 through getting a lot fitter, eating better etc

However a bad breakup at the start of the year and a lot of stress means my weight and dress size has crept back up to a UK 10 =(

I went to see a pt to make me a plan and she says I am above average fitness (once I got over the break up was back in the gym 4-6 times a week) but I'm the heaviest I have been in ages.

So do I need to continue to up my game exercise wise? Do i need to overhaul my diet? or both? I really struggle with low carb but have heard so many people swear by it

I would literally do anything to get back to my previous weight =(

Thanks again in advance

well, it doesnt' sound like exercise is an issue with you. Your doing great. What about your cals? do you know what your consuming?

Sorry about your break-up!

That can be very stressful and as we all know stress can add-on the pounds pretty quickly.

I have had some success focusing on a cardio heavy fitness program with a diet that is rich in B5. B5 is a natural fat fighter and is found in a lot of tasty foods. Salmon,avacados,berries,etc..
Stay away from processed sugars and keep a journal.

As always, the goal is to create a calorie deficit!

Hope this helps!

It is your diet. End of story.

Tell us what you eat and the amount.

Low carb is not a great way to lose weight. You can lose weight by eating carbs and your body NEEDS carbs. Stop listening to all those other people.

As already mentioned; having a better idea of what your current nutrition is like will help us be able to advise you.

Generally speaking whenever I have a new client join me they go through a minimum of a 30 day detox. This means no wheat, dairy, sugar, processed foods, caffine or alcohol for 30 straight days. This will help re-balance the hormones and help you out on a more biochemical level. You get that right and your bodyfat will start to reduce. My guys generally lose a clothing size in 30 days, so it does work! (Oh, and this is without counting calories, but with 3 hard training sessions a week). So that is always an option for you.

If you already eat pretty clean then there are other and more 'advanced' techniques you can try like Carb Cycling and Intermittent Fasting which have both been proven to help you lose weight quickly and healthily. However I do not advise these unless you already have a clean diet.

Exercise wise; although the PT says you are above average I don't want to ignore the fact that there could be some improvements to be made in your program. What are you currently doing in the gym?

Wow... a 30 day MINIMUM detox?

The only reason your clients lost a clothing size is because you cut all the crap out by putting them on a 'detox'.
