Abdominal surgery - looking for support

I am 4 weeks post op - after having abdominal surgery (Not hernia but similar). I did not have muscle removed but did have the fascia removed so I did have mesh placed. I was new to running last spring (had just started running for three weeks) but had to quit due to the pain. Can anyone recommend and fitness clothing or similar that would have great abdominal support. My physician stated I could start jogging/running again. I do have an abdominal binder - but I have one that is too siff (stiff rods in garment) and another one that hardly gives any support. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Compression shorts might be helpful. How low down is the problem area? Above or below the waist?

Also, have you asked your doctor or someone who works at a sports physio clinic? They might have an idea as to what is available or what might help you.

Abdominal support needed

My abdominal inscision is very low abdomen-below the waist. The incision is very well healed already but I have this large abdominal pouch now (bowl of jelly). My physician states it could be several months before it completely goes down. He says it's still swollen and I do have a fluid pocket inside -which my body will reabsorb over time. So finding something that I could wear thats both very supportive and non restrictive is very important to me. Thnaks again in advance for any suggestions.

Dude. Are you a boy or a girl? Come on. XD

I have the answer, but I need to know which to recommend something specific.

, highly recommended by me, and, well, everyone, afaik.

Edit: If you do buy from them, get the basic delivery - it's really fast. And enter under10 for 10% off.

Then come back and tell me how much you love me. ^_^

I had inguinal hernia surgery last year, and have the mesh screen as well. Rehab from it was sloooww, but then again, I did it all myself. Basically, as soon as I could, I started walking up and down hills and progressed with the degree of incline. Stairs also helped. This allowed the muscles and the mesh to strengthen together while also promoting flexibility. The last thing you need is a tight mesh in that region. Because of the success of this, I never wore any special clothing to stabilize my core, because I wanted my body to strengthen that area with no assistance. After this, I worked on balance, and isometric abdominal strength.

If your a woman, you should look for compression garments. There are many available without the rods.

I am going to have some surgery soon and was told I would also have to wear a compression garment or belt. Looked it up and asked around. This place has a wide variety that might suit your needs. Again, if your a woman, not sure what they all have for men.....
