Ab Rollers?

Now that the ab roller or ab machine craze has passed, i am seeing more and more of these at yard sales, and even for free in people's front yards. I do see that my abs tire faster with the roller than without, but am I shortchanging my abs somehow by limiting the range of motion or something???

What's everyone's impression of these things??

bs, these are for lazy ppl

if u want abs, go and do crunches/situps/and bunch of *real* exercises... not just some crap toy u buy from tv lol

& again

if u want abs that bad, u need to lower body fat%

All those ab machines are unnecessary. Crunches are all you need. I have actually seen commercials where it shows a guy with a hefty belly, then next scene hes doing the same ab exercise with a 6-pack. It fails to mention anything about a healthy diet or cardio. If you want to see your abs, eat a clean diet, do cardio, and do crunches 2-3 times a week.

"Abs are made in the kitchen not in the gym." -Anthony Ellis()

im gonna have to disagreee with all you "oh yah crunches" people.. the ab wheel. is revolutionary. it aint no god damm toy.. it is a tool to help you workout. i do the ab wheel till failure. my last set, consists of me fallign on my face. and i am sore for 3 days o_o

the ab wheel is the best :]

Si, for all you non-believers, go and try some ab rollouts with your olympic bar and some weights (doesn't matter, they just need to elevate the bar so it can turn). Stand like you're going to do some dl's, and roll out. Now roll back to standing. Go for 20 reps. Finally, feel inadequate.

LOL how true. You don't realize how hard those roll outs are until you try them

You can use ab rollers for other things too. Use the ones Ross uses basically 2 lawn mower wheels with a hex bolt axle. hold the rollers like you're doing hammer curls. Get down in a push up position and roll your arms out to the sides. Think of the iron cross pose on the rings. Hold the extended position for a few seconds and roll up. OUCH

Ab Rollers Is Not A God Damn Toy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shut The **** Up You Guys

Ya Ab Crunches People

Abrollers Is Not A Toy!!!!! If Yall Think It A Toy You Are Going To Hurt Ur Self!!

And Good If You Break A Body Part Im Not Gonna Cry For You

Iris, there's nothing more unappealing than your sentence structure, lack of comprehension and ability to interact. Plus, looking at your avatar makes me want to punch the screen. GTFO

ok now that's comedy!!

just reading about the ab roller, and WHAM, some weirdo noob has to troll out of the middle of the women's fitness section, into the men's fitness section, and put in her frivolous and offensive two cents. Then comes complete ownage and me laughing to the point of tears!!

Back on topic: I have used the mechanism and yes, it does do some work on the mid section but also there is a stress to tmy back that I just don't like. I'll take hanging leg raises any day over the ab roller.
