Ab Excersize Machine

When I do crunches or situps on a ball or on the floor, I have a hard time isolating my ab muscles, and my neck and back and shoulder muscles feel strained, no matter how much I try to relax them. Anyone have ideas of a simple machine I could get to help me isolate just my ab muscles. Or any excersizes that work well that wont strain my other muscles? Thanx
