A Wedding, THE USA, and LIFE IN GENERAL

Hi guys! I have been a member of this forum for god knows for how long and I've been struggling with my weight since I was I don't know.. 12??? I'm 22 now and still an overweight fatty who really really wants to lose weight badly.. BECAUSE..

1) I always shy away from pictures and hide behind my skinny friends so that people can't see my body in the picture (Cmon I'm sure you're guilty of that too from time to time)


2) I hate getting up in the morning and thinking about what to wear because nothing looks good on me!

3) I HATE shopping because I can go around the whole mall and try every single top or jeans and nothing would look good as well!

AND THE 2 OTHER BIG REASONS WOULD BE

1) I am attending a wedding in 2 months and I REALLY HAVE TO LOOK GOOD BECAUSE MY EX IS THERE .. pathetic I know most of you would think.. but cmon SURELY you've been in my shoes before.. Where you wanna look good because you wanna show him WHAT HE LOST which is nothing but a fatty really.. but hey that's why I'm trying to lose weight :nopity:

2) I am going on a HUGE TOUR TO THE STATES for 2 months and I wanna look good when I see my rellies, friends and everyone else!

I saw how others did their diaries so I'm following suit..

Here are my 'stats'

Dec 16 2008
Starting Weight: 82 kgs
Stats: 102 cms - 91 cms - 109 cms
BMI: 31 - I am officially obese.

GOAL WEIGHT AND DATE

Feb 16 2008
GOAL Weight: 66 kgs
Stats: Do not really know
BMI: 26 - To not be obese but just a little overweight.

I read this really good article today and it talks about how I can start my weight loss. So I have done what it says and here are my stats for BMR etc:

My BMR which is what I burn by just sitting all day = 1500 calories
My job which is in a contact centre, talking on the phone for 7 hrs a day = 1000 calories

That's a total of -2500 calories a day..

I need to have a deficit of 1500 calories a day to get to my almost goal weight in 2 months.. So my calorie intake must not be anything more than 1000 calories.

I had:

Breakfast herbalife = 300 calories
Lunch Subway sandwich = 350 calories (sweet onion chicken teriyaki)
Dinner subway sandwich = 300 calories

I know it sounds like such an expensive diet.. but my plan is I only eat subway dinners when I have work in the evening, and I have work tonight so I have no time to prepare a meal for myself.

However tomorrow, I will have breakfast and dinner herbalife and just lunch a sandwich or subway.

first of all: you need no luck, just determination, understanding and hard hard work!
Second of all: read the stickies, they are wonderful information, about the different food groups, about exercise, etc...
I have only eaten subway once, but I can imagine that you will get bored quickly eating there everyday (plus I can't but question that their sandwiches are only 300 cals when a salad is often 500 and above), maybe you could start making your own packed lunch?
If your plans are not realistic, then you are just setting yourself up for failure.
I recommend exploring the different foodgroups and to get as far away from processed food as you can. Make your own stuff and yeah sure it is more work, but who said that changing your lifestyle and losing weight would not be work?
And eating 1000 cals is not enough! I weigh under 60 kg and I still eat 1500 and I lose weight... there is no need to starve yourself, understand about your body and your metabolism, understand how it all works and then you can make informed choices! You may still chose chocolate (or subway) but at least you are doing it understandiong what you are eating!
You can also read some of the diaries, they are great inspiration, especially the longer ones (mal's, wishes, Omega) who have lost signficant amounts. When I feel low I just read through them and get my inspiration back.

Ok, lecture over, sorry! I was also confused, I also followed fads (chinese teas!), and I also made mistakes and learned from them, so my last (and most important) piece of advice is: don't necessarily follow what other people (for example me) tell you, only you know you and only you know which is the right way to do this for you. I just told you what I learned from my experience, but you need to make your own!

Hey wow thanks. I got the dietary information from their food guide.. and it outlines there that it's just 300 calories per sub, and I checked the salads and they do have 500 calories.. so that's quite weird.

Thanks for the advice though :) wow you're so at my goal weight!
 
I woke up this morning feeling excited because I'm on my 2nd day, and I succeeded yesterday without any failures.. Come to think of it, if I keep on going like this I'm going to have a body like Jessica Alba in no time, and my ex will kiss my feet when he sees me... "so worth it" I thought to myself.

So I stepped on the weighing scale, as I plan to weigh myself everyday.... and I lost freaking 5 kgs!??!?!?! OVERNIGHT?!?

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. I know this for a fact. I know it's water weight... but WOW I have heck of a lot of water weight don't I?... Can anyone shed light about this?? It's just so weird!

I then MEASURED myself.. to be sure.. 102-89cms-110

so I lost 2 cms off my tummy!! NOT BAD for overnight.. it's fantastic!! woot! Now I better drink my shake before i get hungry!
 
i lost no kgs today... but lost 1 cm from my waist. my bust and hips wouldnt budge!! argh!

but hey i cant complain ive been dieting for just a few days :) so me very happy!:willy_nilly::hurray::hurray:

Starting Weight: 84 kgs

Goal Exercise:

1) Wake up at 5 am pack:

WEAR:
-cycling shorts
-shirt
-jumper (if cold)

BRING:
-shampoo
-brush
-towel
-makeup set
-work/uni clothes

2) go to the gym

a) Cardio for 30 minutes (6.5 km/hr)
b) 50 crunches
c) 10 sit ups
d) 15 front leg raise
e) 15 each side side leg raise

Meals
Breakfast:
Special K Cereal or Herbalife or 2 Eggs and 1 pc toast

Lunch:
Subway or Chicken Sandwich or Mi Goreng 1 pack

Dinner:
Herbalife or Special K Cereal or 2 Eggs and 1 pc toast or soup and toast or something less than 400 ks.

Weigh in everyday.
