My name is Demetric :waving:

I am currently 22 years old 5'11 and 285 pounds. At this point of my life this is easily the biggest I have ever been. After getting my constant asthma attacks under control my doctors says that I should get down to a healthy weight which he says is "200lb-215lb" but i have never lost this much weight before and I don't know where to start and I'm open to any suggestions.

Hello, I am 23 and weigh around 195 lbs and looking to drop 20 lbs by Xmas. I made this goal for myself a week and a half ago and managed to drop around 5 lbs but then caved in and went on a binge these past two days and gained it back. Restarting my goal today with a very serious attitude. PM if your interested in keeping in touch and supporting each other and telling each other steps taken/progress made daily/weekly!

Hi there - Im 30 kgs overweight, and looking to lose as much as I possibly can before Summer really kicks in. I'd be really happy to be a part of a support network for us. How do I PM you? Sorry lol. New to this....

Welcome! The forums here are great motivation. You can read thought the information and even start your own diary to track your choices and your progress.

havent worked out how to keep a diary here but am keeping one the old fashioned way: paper and pen :) including what i'm eating each day, how much of it, what calories. havent gone as far as break down the food composition of fat/protein/carbs but am steering away from the carbs anyway: bread/cookies/cake... all those lovely things :( as i know they are my downfall.
I think you need to identify for yourself, right at the start, where your main weaknesses are.... i think if we are all very honest with ourselves we can work out how we got to being overweight: whether its alcohol, carbs, lack of exercise... general over eating or binge eating... once you identify you can start tackling it! hope that helps
