hi everyone, this is my first post and i hope it's in the right area. i wanted to tell some of you guys/gals what my wife and i have been doing to lose weight and get in shape. we were both about 10 lbs over what we wanted to be, and not as toned as we would have liked, so we started on the cereal diet, which is: cereal for breakfast, cereal for lunch, and a normal dinner. also you're allowed 2 fruit snacks a day and normal drinks - though we try to skip sodas and do mostly juice and water. & we use fat-free milk in the cereal. i read about this diet on a "special k" cereal box but we substitute other types of cereal as well to help ease the monotony. we're semi vegetarians (no chicken or beef) and often eat dinners like thai noodles and shrimp, or pan fried fish with steamed sweet potatoes and other veggies. oh and we take omega fush oil supplements 3 times a day.
we've been doing this diet now for about 7 weeks and have both lost around 10 to 13 lbs, both of us had to buy new jeans in fact, as we lost 1-2 inches at the waist. i should add that we also do light workouts about 2 to 3 times a week - running 1-2 miles outside or on a treadmill, and sets of pushups and crunches. it's a very easy diet to live with, not real complicated and it works very well, IMO. you will get hungry sometimes but it get's easier to do as you start to see and feel the results. right now we're on about a 1,000 calories a day but eventually i intend to bring it up to 1,500 or so - i want to keep off what we lose. i'm 41, 6' tall, 150 lbs, and my wife is 34, 5'2", 117 lbs. so hey some of you looking to try something simple that works well, give it a try.
