91 lbs gone! Before and After

Its taken a lot of willpower and time, but I can finally wear skinny jeans! I never was an overweight kid and my mom cooked us healthy foods...then came college and my introduction to cheap fast food. I went from being 5'5 and 130lbs to 170 pretty quick and into a size 16. I got so depressed, but the more depressed I got the more I ate. Eventually toward my late 20's, I ballooned up over 200lbs and sometimes squeezed into a size 20. I was 236 at my heaviest. A year and a half ago I started looking at all our vacation pictures and was sad that I was maybe in just a couple of them out of all the trips we have taken as a family. I wasnt sad for me, but for my son...when he looks back on childhood photos, mom wont be in any. I went out and bought a wii fit and stood on it, my mii character blew up and said "Oh My". I vowed to be able to get on it one day and have it not insult me :) I cut out fast food (except for the dollar side salad at McDonalds) and quit drinking pop and anything to drink with calories in it...this was a super quick 30lb loss. I also cut my calories down to 1000 or less per day. I got my droid smartphone last year and that helped me make better decisions when we did eat out. I use google voice like a maniac to find out how many calories something is before I attempt to order it. Im now down to 145 and have maintained the same weight for about 3 1/2 months and am definitely more active now. The biggest highlight of my journey was walking into stores I hadnt set foot into for years because I could only wear plus size clothing. One thing I have noticed though is that sizes are so different now. I used to be able to just pick up a size 9 when I was younger off the rack anywhere and it would fit...not so true anymore. I range anywhere from size 8 to 12 depending on the maker, so I concentrate more on proper fit than size.

Im wearing the same maroon tank top in two pictures. I was stuffed like a sausage in it back then, now its big and roomy and become p.j. loungewear :) I finally feel like myself again and for the first time in a very long while. Good luck to everyone else on your journey, if I can do it, trust me...you can too!

Welcome to the forum!

Great post!

I love reading success stories, and yours is awesome! You've done amazing and you look incredible! Congrats on your accomplishment!

I had to chuckle at the bit about your wii character :p I've never tried Wii Fit, but I bet being given a hard time by a little digital avatar isn't very pleasant, lol. I'm glad you were able to show it who's boss :] I also totally agree about pant sizes nowadays. Some of the makers are a bit delusional about what they think a certain size is sometimes I believe. I have a few pairs of pants in my closet for when I get to my goal weight, and I find a size 32 pants from one brand actually fits better than a size 36 from another. So yeah, kind of annoying, but whatever.

Anyway, congrats again! :hurray:

AYou look amazing, congrats on the loss! I'm looking forward to stepping into a shop I always pass by, it has skinny dresses, and it's one of my motivations.

And yes! Drinking stuff that doesn't have calories helps!
