Hi everyone!

I am so happy that I have found a place where I can log and write my daily progress to a slimmer, healthier me!

I am 24 years old (wow I just realized that I'm old) and I have bounced between 66-68 (149 lbs) kilos for the looongest time. It has seriously been years. I have always been very active.. and I feel that I am healthy. I'm not really 'tiny' framed or anything, but still- I know that I can and should lose weight. I want to be more defined and not to have these blasted muffin tops!
Soooo.. I FINALLY made the decision to pull my head out and finally do something about it! :party:But seriously. I am 5'5" and I am going to lose 8 KGs (which is 17.6lbs) and weigh a health 60KG (132lbs)!

I want to achieve this goal (or as close as possible) before May the 6th. Why this date? This is the day I set off in a big jet plane to America!!!! So I've got all the motivation in the world!

Yesterday was DAY 1 of my healthy strict eating regime... and I already feel better! It's hard to explain. Maybe its more the feeling of 'being in control' that feels good too.. :)

Basically- I eat healthily and cut out snacks and excercise = I lose weight. I just need to stick to it. I always find the headspace that "oh I deserve that" for when I eat chocolate or 'yeah I worked out so I can eat that!" and thats how I've maintained more weight then I would like! So I've changed my attitude and mindset. No where but up from here! :smilielol5:

My weigh in is every Monday, so next week I shall post my results!

Monday 28th March

Yesterday was day one of my healthy kick!! I ate extremely well...

breakfast-had some Weet-Bix and All bran with sultanas for breakky (can anyone tell that im australian yet?? HA!) then I had an apple for snack at 11:30am...
Lunch- I had some homestyle vegetable soup that I made (no potatoes) along with a Hi Fibre Low GI bread bum from Bakers Delight (YUMMO) then green pear at 2:30pm
Dinner- 2 eggs with green beans, zucchini and spinach! I mixed it with a little garlic.. I loved my breath after, ha!

I worked out way intense today (not intentionally)
RAN for 30 minutes
ELLIPTICAL for 15 minutes.

When I got home mum really was bummed that I didn't go Spin class with her.. I felt bad so I went to the SPIN Class also. Which was so intense!!! SO needless to say, I sure did burn too many calories, yikes!

Tuesday 29th March

Today is a good day, I'm extremely excited about *FINALLY losing this weight!!! I am already feeling better!

I woke up this morning to workout (I prefer morning workouts to evening)
I tried to run but my legs were burning from yesterday... so I really took it easy. I ran and did this new machine.. all for about 45 minutes and burnt 355 calories.

for
Breakfast- Lovely Oatmeal with blueberries around 7:30am. It was so delicious and kept me really full! Then I had an apple at 11:30am
Lunch- I took some of last nights tea to work (string beans, zuchinni & spinach) and put it inside this wholemeal healthy wrap after I heated it up in the microwave. I was surprised how good it tasted! I also had a tin of Alaskan Salmon to get me some protein. Then I had a nectarine and chicken cup-a-soup around 2:30pm for my afternoon snack.
Dinner- Tonight i'll be having lamb soup! It's on at home right now in the slow cooker.. mmm looking forward to it!

All in all, so far so good! I haven't had the urge to cheat or eat sugar (my weakness).. not yet! I know it's still early days. But I really do feel 110% focused! Bring it on! Also I was thinking... I want to have weights every Monday and Wednesday! Yes.. Okay, weighing in tomorrow morning!

Wednesday 30th March

So far so good today!! I am feeling even more motivated... I purchased some Protein Revival shake drinks for after my workouts. I think I realized where I have been going wrong in the past with my weight struggle. ALAS I may have figured it out. I seemed to, in the past, always work out and eat very healthy and strict... but I have only recently realized that I never replaced the calories that I burnt. Which is why I struggled to lose weight, I'm almost sure that at times my by body would go into starvation mode... which explains why i never lost weight, well, once I did I would just gain it back.

So now I'm trying to replace my calories that I burn... but not with junkfood, with healthy fats like avacado, nuts, olive oil. I think I'm on to something!!!

Exercise- I woke up 5:30am for a hour Spin class this morning, i think i am addicted!!

Breakfast- I had my Protein Revival drink straight after my workout. Followed by some 'Superfood' oatmeal with blueberries. Yuummmmm!
Morning Snack- An apple
Lunch- A big green salad with 95 grms of Yellow Fin tuna in olive oil
Afternoon snack A chicken noodle cup a soup with carrot sticks
Dinner Veggie stirfry!

I didn't get to weigh myself today because the scales are in mums room and I didnt want to wake her before Cycle class this morning. So perhaps I'll just stay with my weekly weigh ins! :auto:

Happy losing people, thanks for reading

We have similar goals!! I send positivity your way so you can see your goal come true!! I like how you're so motivated!

I recently have made a goal for myself to work out daily!! SOMETHING I NEVER did, I see you're also doing it so it kinda makes me feel not alone--- lol even though I'm a complete stranger. Keep at it!

HEY THERE!

Yesss I am really trying to get in a routiene of going 5 times a week.. but I have the weekends free to sleep in and relax. I also have that option to workout on Saturday (if I wanted to, ha!) but I leave Sundays for my 'pajama' day, doing whatever I wish!

Um by theway- you have lost a MASSIVE amount!! That's so amazing, congratulations! Not long now before you hit your goal weight, right? Right!

Hellooooo to another Aussie!!! Looking good so far with your food.

AND 24 is soooooo not old (23 here, I'd like to think that it's not all over by 24 lol)

hahah hey luz- yeah you're right! I think when I typed my age I just realized that I wasn't 21 anymore. You know how you just have those ages stuck in your head and then you're like "waaait a minute...."

By the way- we have the same goal! 60 KGS bring it on! I have 8 KGS of love handles to lose... yessss!

Thursday 31st March

I took a break from excercise today to give my body and muscles some sort of recovery! They were aching so much last night and I don't want to over do it... or become obsessed! So I took it easy and I think my body is grateful for that.
It's been a rough day at work and I want to smack a few people out, buuuut its okay... im getting hooot and they're not. Ha!

Here's what I've had to eat today;

Breakfast- Superfood oats and barley meal with blueberries!
Lunch- I was scared about lunch because my work colleagues and I went out for lunch for a staff member as today was his last day. But i chose a Vegetarian meal which included Bok Chuy, Mung noodles and some tofu! It wasnt fried or anything so I feel at ease because I know it was a healthy option considering.
Afternoon Snack- Atkins Day bar and an apple
Dinner- Mums making a vegetable curry tonight which I'm looking forward to! It's very delicious and low cal!

Then I'm up earlyyyy tomorrow morning for our Spin Class! I am also going to the 9:30am class this saturday.. that will mean 6 Days of working out this week for me, wooohoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Cheeky,

You are doing so well. I take it posting about what you are going is helping to keep you going?

Definitely make sure you give your body rest days. You don't want to cause yourself an injury that would stop you exercising altogether or just completely burn out.

Keep it up! You ate doing so well!

Friday 1st of April (WOOHOO its Friday!!)

WEll well well.. what do you know, today is April fools day.. and boy did I have the pranks pulled out on me at work! Hahaha! And a special thanks to whoever watered down the milk ... that was a lovely cup of tea that I had! Not!

So this morning for
Excercise- I went to spin class for a hour =)))) I suuuure do love that class, I feel so amazing afterwards!

So heres my food diary today!

Breakfast- I had my oats & barley with blueberries again! I just love itttt!
Lunch- I had some of left over Veggie Curry from dinner last night.. sooo yum! Plus a high fibre Low GI bread bum from Bakers Delight & also an Atkins bar (full of protein!)
Afternoon Snack- Heyyoooo to the seedless watermelon!
Dinner- My boyfriend and I are getting tea tonight, Nandos chicken! So its definitely healthy (because i'll just be eating chicken- no fries!! ha!)

And that's about it! We're also seeing a movie tonight and it's tradition that we eat Musk LifeSavers during the movie. So I will have one, or maybe two and that's it =) I love feeling like I'm in control and i feel so amazing after saying "no" to something!

Sooooo... so far so good! I feel fantastic and it's almost time for my first weigh in!

Hello Sparky D & Stacyyyy! =)

Yes Sparky you're right... I'm always being told "write down what you eat- it'll help!" and I was like "ehhhh!" but now I have found a place to write it all down and it really is helping. Maybe because if I wrote down everything that I'd eat before I'd read it and go "uh whoa... that's alottt!" So it has helped me notice where I was going wrong. Which is of course eating too much !:leaving:

& welcome stacy!! :seeya:

AARGHHH I'm devooooo! So last week when I weight on my scales I was 68 KG and then this morning, a week later, I weigh myself on my mother's scales (all spiffy and electronic) and i weighed 69.7!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I either put on weight (which Im sure I didn't!) ORRR my scales are broken :banghead::banghead:

*siiiigh... I never realized I weight THAT much... it's scary how the weight just creeps on!

SO this is what Im going to do- Just go by the 69.7 weight and stick to using my mum's scales and just go from there. I have 5 weeks to lose as much weight as I can before my holiday to the US... I would LIKE to lose 5 kilos in 5 weeks. I'm sure it's more than possible!!!!!!!!!! Well I'm aiming to weight 65 KGs by my holiday, so less than that would be even better.
:hurray: I'm not going to be discouraged by this scale epidemic- in fact, it has made me even more focused. Plus i FEEL better already, after a week of being super healthy.

SO BRING IT ON!

I ate well on the weekend, didn't cheat once (oh wait, I did have a couple of life savers) but that's it! I didn't work out yesterday (Sunday) or today (Monday) But i plan to work out the next 6 days *cracks knuckles*.

This is my meal plan for the day;

Monday 4th April
Breakfast- I had my oats and barley with blueberries!
Morning Tea- a pear
Lunch- A salah with a tin of tuna with Olive Oil
Afternoon Snack- Atkins bar
Dinner- Im thinking scrambled eggs with steamed veggies.

Here's to a new week- and I will get to SEE actual results next monday (using mum's scales)

:rotflmao:

HI cheeky

You are so upbeat its great to read. I am an aussie also. And i have to lose about the same amount of weight as you and i'm your height but i am "really" old - 47- and i am not in a big hurry. I want to be 59 by the end of the end of the year.

Good luck with your goals.

Hey looks like you're doing great! Dont worry about the scale, one day it tells me I gained 2lbs, the other I lost 3. Try to weight yourself under the same circumstances each time (like for me, morning before I eat and after I use the bathroom. Not after a shower or bath). Tomorrow I'll check in the scale but I think I'm doing good! My thighs are looking smaller and my arms are looking more defined :) Go with how you feel as your main way to determine how your progress is going.

Hi fortyfour! I agree- 59 KG would be nice! I would loooove to finally be out of the 60's... that's where i've been for most of my time! Although, i did once weigh 57 but I looked way too skinny and thin... I dont have the smallest of frames so I think anything between 60-65 KG would look nice on me. I'm aiming for 62 to be exact! I'm going to the States soon and would like to lose as much as I can (the healthy way) before that, soooooo we'll see where I'm at in about 5 weeks time! Thanks for reading!

HIiii good morning Penguinita! Yes you're sooo right! I must go by how I FEEL not so much the numbers. I did just feel a bit deflated that what I thought I weighed wasnt the case at all.. it was actually a whole lot more, ha! But it's okay, on the plus side, atleast I'm doing something about it :hat:
By the way- amazing job with your weightloss journey!! You're a true inspiration!!!

Tuesday 5th April

I can't WAIT for next monday, where I'll hopefully actually SEE results (on the scales)
But for now, this is what I am having to eat today;

after workout- my protein drink
Breakfast- Barley & Oats with strawberry & my morning coffee
morning tea- two plums
Lunch- Vegetable curry with a wholemeal wrap to eat on the side
afternoon tea- Atkins protein bar
dinner- steamed veggies & scrambled or hardboiled eggs (2)

I will also mention that I drink LOTS of water and herbal teas during the day.:biggrinjester:

Today's excercise:
Woke up nice and early and did 20 minutes on the elliptical machine and then I ran for 15 minutes and walked for 10. All in all I burnt about 360 calories. I might do a spin class tonight, if not, I do have one first thing tomorrow morning
