My current BMI is around 27.3 and I'd like to eventually be in the normal weight range (on the lower end preferable). I've lost about 64 pounds now. I'm at 169.9, but would like to be at least 150 or under (again, normal weight range). I'm not really obsessed with being a certain number I just want have a really good fitness level.
Since my goal is fitness and not just weight loss, I really focus on exercise. I mean nothing extreme! I don't spend 3 hours at the gym per day. I like lifting weights and other strength training exercises. Lately, I've been working with kettlebells. I do about 3 strength days a week and about 3 cardio days a week. For cardio, I like to do HIIT workouts or go jogging.
With regards to eating, I count calories. I try to eat around 1600 calories per day, which according to most calorie calculators is my BMR. I eat at least my BMR to avoid muscle loss that most people experience when losing weight and eating too restrictively. The only specific restriction I have is that I try not to eat wheat. Mainly, I just try to eat healthy. You know, very few processed products, lots of veggies, fruit, greek yogurt, lean meats, nuts and eggs. Lately, my "diet" some days is high protein/moderately high carbs and other days is high protein/moderately high good fats. It really just depends. I also try to cut refined sugar. The only sweet I have is a tiny bit of honey when I need it and occasionally some 70% or higher dark chocolate (not very sweet). Hmmm. I think I covered the high points.
What about you? What's your plan?
