6-pack-abs Brother Competition

Hello, thanks for visiting this post. Me and my younger brother are starting a competition to see who can get a 6-pack-abs first. Now this is going to be a good competition and we are going to need you alls help. Please, if you want to, give each of us tips based on our statistics. I'm David, and my little Bro is Ryan. Also please post, based on the statistics, who has a more of an advantage of getting 6-pack-abs first.

David
-----------
Age----------------- 15
Weight-------------- 156
Waist---------------- ~34 inches
Height--------------- I believe 5 foot 10, very unsure
Body Fat Percentage- 18%

Ryan *Very skinny, very weak, so I don't know how that will turn out.
-------------------
Age------------------ 13
Weight--------------- 97 Pounds
Waist---------------- ~29 inches
Height--------------- I believe 5 foot 5, very unsure
Body Fat Percentage- 16%

Me and my brother believe by having a competition we are more likely to achieve our goals. So please, if you want to, post tips.

Heres some things I already know
* Eat clean, * Lots of Cardio, *Leg lifts 12'' till you die.

Thank You!

Well.

You are both at an ADVANTAGE, yet DISADVANTAGEE.

Since you're more developed physically, and your muscles are, you are likely to get it first.
Since he has a lower body fat percent, he is likely to show it first.

Also keep in mind that everyone already technically has a six pack, so this competition is utterly pointless.

i think the dude with low body fat percentage, since getting the sixpack to show is all about not having alot of fat ;)

Haha, good post me and my bros have like an un-talked about competition. You could win if you work harder :p. You can mess with more weight maybe making it easier but he has a MAD advantage!

Yea, Ryan's at an advantage. But don't rule yourself out, who knows he might get lazy. The challenge will motivate you to work harder than you ever would before. Do a lot of cardio. Some people would recommend running which is great, if you want to get the heart rate up very quickly and start sweating quickly the jump rope. Jump roping can help you burn off quite a bit. As far as exercises, well I have a routine that kills! Hehe. 50 crunches-hands placed lightly behind the head, let the chin rise sometimes, rather than always having the head hunched over, 20 crunch twists-side to side crunches, elbow to knee, 25 pikes-hold your legs at a 90 degree angle and lay flat on your back, and reach up and touch your toes and go back down, then 50 more crunches, 25 leg lifts-flat on your back, feet rise up to a 90 degree angle, 30 seal crunches-I call them seal crunches. These might put some stress on your back but extend your legs and crunch up while your bring your extended legs up to about 12" off the floor and back down, you can do it fast or slow. 50 crunches again YES again, and you're done. Work with resistance too, like doing fewer crunches but doing them very slow and resisting on both the way up and down.

is everyone forgetting the fact the a 13yr old shouldn't be dieting to lose weight unless they are over weight. he is growing up, therefore he should have all the goodness he can get to grow strong.

Its not a myth, how you are fed as a child affacts your imune system and the size and strength of your bones for life.

body fat is 20% your 5ft 10 with a waist of 34" !!! thats big brother! im 5 11 with a body fat of 20% and have a 29.5" waist!!! ZOMG

plus ya lil bro may get them faster, but you'll probs have much more strength in there...

i think you are at a great atvantage.. perhaps he hasnt much Testoserone.. :)

break his leg he wont be able to do much cardio ;D

6pack

LOL, Anyway I have been doing a little cardio. I decided that I'm going to jump it up a little more. Don't worry about my little brother, he's good. He just started doing lots of situps and he gained a pound? I keep gaining weight too because I also lift weights. This should take about a few monthes for this competition to end, but yes, it is motivating me alot to work harder.

Alright, its been about a month. Heres my progress.

BEFORE
-----------
Age----------------- 15
Weight-------------- 156
Waist---------------- ~34 inches
Height--------------- I believe 5 foot 10, very unsure
Body Fat Percentage- 18%

AFTER
------------
Age- 15
Weight- 153
Waist- 32.5 inches
Height- I know now I'm 5 foot 9
Body Fat Percentage- 12%

Adumb was right, my brother got lazier

I've been working like a physco. I do High intensity cardio training like every ohter day. ( I also weight lift too). My little brother has actually gained in 1% body fat. The competition is really close now. My brother didn't realize I was taking this so seriously.

You lost 6% bodyfat in 4 weeks? I guess you can call me a skeptic. Anyway, what happened to the days when teenagers were busy having fun rather than worrying about who would get ripped first?

They exist...but none of those teens are on these fitness forums.

I guess I am a little bit of both, making my claim false. Speaking of which, I thought there was going to be an after party at my house...

I don't understand where people get this crazy idea that if a teen goes the gym he doesn't have time for other things. I can't speak for everyone but i know that myself that saturday nite is party nite and although i don't choose to go to them i certainly could i wanted to. There still is time for that sorta thing.

I use an online body fat tester with measuring tape. There not the most accurate testers. So I'm not sure if 6% in 4 weeks is quite accurate either. I see a little change, not much. Another reason, why I am into weight training is all so I can get ready for Football Season. I really want to start. You know, you go through the whole season sitting on the bench during the games wandering why you joined. (I did start my last game, only got one tackle). The last time I got down to this body fat percentage, I usually ended up giving up goes my progress just stopped. I really wouldn't consider this a competition much more, it wouldn't affect me if my brother won. I think I'm just doing it for my own good now. So I'm still goin for it. Plus, 6 pack good for the ladies.....

Ripped is not what you want if you're going to be taking tackles. And, for the record, at 6% your abs should be very nicely defined.
