512 pounds of me

Hi, I am new to this forum I want this to serve as an introduction, as well as I just have to write this. I thought I would put this out there to make it real for me.

Well, I started eating a low calorie diet and exercising on the first of the month and had no clue as to what I weighed. I had ordered a scale a couple weeks ago that goes to 550 lbs, and it got here this morning and I was ecstatic yet I was honestly scared that it would not support me. as it turns out I weigh 512 lbs today right this minute. I am relieved that it supports me and I am below 550 I in all honesty thought I was more than that so thats a good thing right? but the bad news is that I still weigh 512 lbs so I have a very long hard road ahead of me but its a decision that I made so it doesn't matter how long the road is. I blog daily and have a couple of people that visit it regularly and are a huge support base for me and for that I am appreciative, as I will take all the support I can get.

can someone point me in the direction that I need to go to get one of those neat O tickers for my signature? now that I have a weight to add to it I want one! lol, Thank you for reading and thatks to whoever runs this site!

Hi Botzz. Welcome to the forums!
I am fairly new also but this is a greta place to get motivated to keep going.
I wish you the best of luck getting started and cannot wait to see your progress. We all have to stick together through this life changing journey.

Hi Botzz, welcome to the forum :).

If you feel like blogging on here, start yourself a weight loss journal and we'll check in on you and see how you're doing. You're going to feel better and better and I'm looking forward to hearing about that. My view is to start small, cut this and that (like soda or fast food or whatever) and take a walk around the block or halfway if you like. I notice a lot of people cut their calories so deeply and so extremely for a short while and then poof, ya never see them on here again. So that's the only reason I say that it doesn't have to be all or nothing to work. I would guess you may have started this before, as have we all, and maybe it would be helpful for you to think about what has worked and what got you off your plan and adjust according to past experience. Well that's my unrequested two cents :D.

You get the ticker at tickerfactory.com.

heya and welcome to the family :)

If you are 515 now, im guessing you must have lost a fair bit already in the first month also. Good for you though working on it. Being a larger person to start with you will enjoy jumping in on the challenges thread - im sure you can out loose all the 1-2lb a week people! :D
I must admit, after loosing so much, it sucks that i can never loose the big chunks like i used too lol.

Hey Paul, welcome to the community. I want to learn more about you before I say anything else.... so I'll read through your blog later today and see what's up.

I hope you stick around and best to ya!

Are ya'll mind readers? How'd ya deduce his name is Paul? I knew Steve was pretty smart but dang :)

Welcome to the forum :)

and just take it one day at a time, building one new habit at at time..

Hahahah, I just read Paul... not Newman, nor the quote.

So Paul is probably not the name.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the kind welcomes, so far so good as far as my new way of life goes. I have been doing more reading than posting, and I post on another forum as well. I will try and do more posting than reading starting now ;) just wanted to pop in and say Thanks for reading and taking the time to leave a comment.

lol and for the inquiring minds I am not Paul :hurray:

Welcome to the forums, and congratulations on making your first step in your weight loss journey!

I hope you will create a journal/diary as I would love to follow your progress and support ya as best I can.

Good Luck!

Welcome...I'm another newbie to the site but started at a similar point about a year ago. Keep up with it and like everyone else says take it a step at a time. I was 562 and when I looked at the 'big picture' and saw that to get to my goal weight I needed to lose >300 lbs it was seemingly impossible. Here I am a year later and half way there...

Good luck!
