Hi Everyone, I've been on this site for several months now. I need to take some more pictures today of my progress. But I was hoping to be further along by the 5 month mark. I have lost 53lbs total in 5months exactly. I was 339lbs when I started and now at 286lbs. I have struggled a little more this month, but am doing the best that I can to keep moving. I've had a week of 5lb loss, 1 lb loss and a 2lb loss this week...a little inconsistent but at least it's still moving. I just figured for a large woman I'd be further along by now, but I am happy with my progress. I can't be perfect all the time and I do accept that, eventually I believe that will get me to my goal. I have far to go but I think slow and steady wins the race this time. Just any ideas on my progress, I'll attach a before and after face picture, full body shots will follow the weekend. Thanks to you all for the support I've gotten here, it hasn't been easy but I find motivation and inspiration here every day. The two larger faces are at 339/340lbs , the new are about 290lbs.

Hi there,

2 years ago I lost 26.5 pounds in 2 weeks and believe me it was such an unhealthy diet that i ended up in hospital. And what happened later? I gained more than half of it back.

If you ask me, what you have achieved so far is a great success. Keep up the good work! :)

I think 50 pounds in 5 months is pretty damn good. You have the right attitude- you won't be perfect (who is??). Just don't give up, as we all have ups and downs. In a month, it will be more, and then another five months will pass before you know it!

Congratulations on your weight loss so far! That's terrific! I think that sounds like a very good rate of loss. As much as we'd all love to lose it overnight, it seems a lot more sustainable to go the slow and steady way. Keep up the good work! :)

Wow.. you are doing a great job!!! 10 pounds per month is actually ideal for long term sustainablity!!! Keep up the great work!

Yes, you could not have done any better if you ask me. 10 to 12 lbs per month is very healthy and will be very likely to stay off. Great job so far and keep at it, you are doing awesome!

I think you have done a great job so far! I think you have a very cute face and will look very nice when you are all done! Good luck!

Wow! 50 lbs in 5 months is TERRIFIC! And I can absolutely see a difference in your pictures!

Keep up the great work!

I agree with everyone here. .. Great job so far and I think the rate of 10lbs per month... 2.5 lbs per week is perfect! Great Job.

Thank You all so very much. It is great, we had a b-day party for my son on the weekend and so many people commented on how great I looked. So it was nice to get noticed. I feel great and there is no turning back for me. I love the way I feel, I am learning to love the way I look, and in general just feel healthier. I'm happier too that I am finally getting my life under control. I thank you all for your support. Some days are harder than others when you really need support but when I feel good, I like to come back and try to inspire others as well. It's nice to know you are stronger and better, I walked with a friend the other night on a trail with quite a few stairs, plus we walked for another hour or more after the hiking trail, when I started, I know I would not have finished the hiking trail , and maybe couldn't walk more than 15 mins, so I know the change is happening, slow and steady is working for me. I'm so excited, today is a great day! Thanks again to you all!

Congrats on the weight loss, you're doing really well!! Some weeks will be better than others, the important thing is that the scale keeps moving in the right direction!
