Hi Guys!

I have recently lost 40lbs. I went from 212 to 172 and would like to lose another 20 and tone up some more. I have been struggling the last month and have put on about 3 pounds. I got sick for a couple weeks and went on vacation which kinda derailed my workout routine a bit, BUT I am DETERMINED to get back on the weight loss wagon and make it to my goal. Because of the weight loss I was able to join the Air National Guard and get my dream job whereas before my weight held me back from doing so. I have a physical fitness test at the end of March that I MUST pass in order to attend my broadcast journalism school in April and I am so excited to see such wonderful changes in my life. Thanks so much to all of you here for such motivating stories and for inspiring me to take control of my life again. I am sure I will one day be writing a story about this journey. Until then, I love you all and wish the best to each of you. XOXOXOXOX

Hey that is really impressive! Looking good! I like your story because your weight loss helped you get your dream job.

It will definitely be hard for you to lose weight being that you are getting close to your goal but I think if you concentrate on the fitness aspect of it, the weight will drop and the toning will appear. Besides, it sounds like passing that test is pretty important to you. Focus on that and the other reward will be a lighter and more toned you. In other words, ignore the scale to some degree and focus on becoming fit enough to pass that test. Oh, and of course, keep eating healthy too.

Thanks Derrick! I know what you mean about not obsessing over the scale. It does get a bit harder with every inch you get closer to your ideal weight. It took me about 5 months to lose the 40 lbs and now it has slowed down, but I know it's because I need to give more to my training. Losing weight has really helped me gain more confidence again. I had to jump through a lot of hurdles to get the job I wanted with the National Guard. A few of those things included weight loss and retaking the ASVAB. I almost doubled my ASVAB score from the first time I took it! I wouldn't have had the confidence to have tried before and another small thing is running outside in the neighborhood where people can actually see me and not just in the gym on a treadmill in the corner! lol

Wow you look fabulous and I wish you the best on your fitness exam in March. You can sooo do it! =)

Great Job!!!! Congrats on the dream job too. I'm a tad jealous in the fact that I wanted to join the military...but after being married to DH while he was Active Duty...I'll now refrain from accomplishing that dream, LOL.
Good luck w/ the rest of your weightloss goal, I'm sure you'll make it!!

Thank You!

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I know it is only 40 lbs and in photos I'm not so sure it's a huge difference, but I feel so much better.
