Is it possible for someone who just began to exercise and eat better to lose 30 pounds in 2 months? What are your thought... :D

It is possible but I think the recommended is about 2.5 per week max.

I agree. I don't think it's possible to lose that much in that time without doing it unhealthy. Unless you're at a realy high weight like 300 lbs + as they drop a lot of weight quickly when first starting out.

At 236 pounds you could definitely lose 30 pounds in 2 months in a healthy way. In fact, I was 223 and did it, so I know that it's possible. But I wouldn't suggest that as making your goal. As mentioned, 2.5 pounds a week, or 10 pounds a month, is a good goal that you can achieve. So if you set your goal for 20 pounds, still try and do the best you can so that if you did lose 30 pounds, it's just an extra boost. When first starting you do lose more weight than 2 months into your weightloss so you may lose 30 pounds in 2 months. But don't expect it to be that way all the time. Like I mentioned, I lost 19 pounds in my first month. Then 13 the following month and 8 pounds the next. So it seemed to slowly decrease every month for me.

How would you suggest I do this. I am starting this thing with a turkey sanwich on whaet bread for breakfast and lunch... and thats all. Plus the exercise.

What really helps is making a diary on here. It sort of keeps you in check and makes you want to do better. :p But as for offline, just eating better in general worked for me. Trying to get down vegetables, eating more fruit, drinking water and staying away from chocolate, over eating, etc. I have P.E. in school and that helps me with my exercise. My family also plays racquetball and that's good too. I feel though that if you're doing weight lifting you aren't going to see the weight coming off as fast if you were just doing cardio. Since weight lifting gains muscle you don't see the weight loss. So take measurements of your body if so. I hope that made sense, it seems a little jumbled up to me. :p

One thing I will say is the longer it takes you take off the weight the better. It is so nice to have a quick fix but that can set you up to want to binge or go back to your old ways once you have lost the weight. Then you can gain the weight you worked so hard to take off plus some extra unwanted pounds.

Another thing to be careful about is the amount of foods you intake. It sounds silly but you need to eat to lose weight. If you are starving yourself and not taking in enough calories your body can go into starvation mode slowing down your metabolism which means that your body is trying to conserve energy because it thinks that there is a famine and will hold tight to those extra pounds.

Try following the food guide (U.S.A. food Pyramid). They make recommendations as to how many servings of foods you are to eat in a day. Control your portions. Some people find that eating several small meals a day (every 3 hours ) works for them.

If you are looking to follow a weight loss program try to avoid the pre-packaged food programs (Nutra System, Jenny Craig etc.) Weight watchers is a great program, so is the Body for life program (book). These programs teach you how to do it on your own essentially. You eat regular foods from the grocery store.

Hope that helps.

PS do you mind me asking why you want to achieve this in 2 months?
