Hey peeps

i am leaving on a hiking holiday in 3 weeks and ive been in training, with the priority of getting reasonalby fit. Il be doing quite a few hill treks etc.

My other priorty was to lose some weight in the prrocess well actaully not weight but FAT! around my gut!

It seems not to want to leave me! Ive increaed my weight traingin recentyla and i have noticed a overal tonning in my body, inparticualr upper body.
and i am also running.

can anyone suggest any exercises or diet plans that i can undertake to help me in this short period to trim down my gut!

thanx

I'm not too familiar with toning as at the moment I am still working at losing excess weight, but plenty of people here will be able to help. Good luck with it. :)

well the best thing you could do is some reasonably intense cardio 20-30 mins twice a day (running, biking etc)

and also do some abb specific workout like sit ups, captains chair etc.

the ab specific workouts wont trim down the fat around the belly, but will tighten the area and increase your muscle mass, the cardio will be the fat trimmer.

but im not sure 3 weeks will be long enough to see results.

is 1 hour of cardio the same as 20- 30 mins twice a day?

wat bout diet? stick to same ol norms of weight loss?

Well if you want to diet hard and exercise hard for the next three weeks, I suggest a low carb diet (no more than 3-4 servings a day), and HIIT (High intensity interval training) 20 mins 3 days a week with circuit weight training the days in between and one day off a week.

Steady state cardio, even if intense, won't nearly do as much as interval training. Interval training burns the majority of calories the 24-36 hours after a workout.

I could get more specific, but if you're already into getting fit, I'm sure you have the basic ideas down.

yes it is, i do a moderately intense run/stationary biking twice a day 25 mins each and burn 800 calories all up everyday.

also try to eat low calorie foods, or have 3 meals a day all consisting of about 400 calories.

.

Well at the gym everday i try and do
30-45 straight on the cross trainer ( the thing is i twisted my ankle and icant run fully yet. - tried to run 30 mins straight on the tready and it was painful.. dont want to push the anlkle)

and i also do bout 30 mins of weights b4 hand....

i try and eat low calorie foods as well....

is that exercis regime seem ok for my goal?

Key word is results.. you can't lose fat in specific spots. If you starved yourself and did cardio 3 hours a day 7 days a week then yeah, maybe you'll lose that fat.

3 weeks is too soon for anything major.
