I have been an overweight person majority of my life. I have lost around 15 lbs in the past month and have never felt better! I am now more energetic, positive and passionate in life!

I highly recommend watching Hungry For Change at hungryforchange.tv. It is an eye-opening documentary that is life-changing! After watching it, I am so much more mindful of what I eat and I have lost a great deal of weight and feel significantly healthier!

Below are 3 simple lifestyle changes that contributed to my healthy weight loss:
1. Significantly minimizing the 3S (Sugar, Soda, Simple Carbohydrates (White rice, white bread, pasta, potatoes) ) will work wonders for your health. However, as mentioned in Hungry For Change, sugar is a very addicting substance. It can be very hard to minimize sugar cravings because of withdrawal symptoms so hang tough!

2. As mentioned in Hungry For Change as well, toxins are stored in fats. Eating a lot of the 3S contributes to a lot of toxins. Even if you exercise a lot, you may not lose the fat if there are a lot of toxins in the body. It is the body's way of protecting you. You have to eat the right food (fruits, vegetables, lean proteins) and take the right supplements (multi-vitamins and minerals) first to remove the toxins from the fat so that burning fat will be significantly faster.

3. For those with limited time to exercise, try interval training. I myself only exercise around 10-20 minutes a day so if I exercise, I just make it as efficient as possible.

I had a hard time with tips 1 and 2 because I was very addicted to sugar before. I also had a lot of toxins in my body due to unhealthy eating habits.

Hey gemin, great post! Never knew how important it is to look out for toxins in your body. And here I was drinking and eating fatty foods!

You're absolutely right..sugar and carbs are bad for you in large amounts. I always find myself craving sugary foods and the withdrawals are rough. I also find myself hungry or that desire to eat food that taste over the top tasty. But recently, I've been shutting up my craving with salads. I noticed that eating salads/fruits in between my normal meals makes me crave less on these junk food.

Well, that's my take on it so far. But of course, you need your carbs and sugar. I believe you should have everything in moderation for a healthy body.

I do have one question though, should I consider protein shakes? I am trying to lose fat and define my muscles (which primarily comes from your diet) and I am doing P90X.
