Hello everyone:seeya:, I'm Aaron and in the last 4 years my weight has gone from around 12 stone up to a whopping 16.5 stone. It's only in the last couple of months though that I have decided to do anything about my weight, before I would just eat and drink loads of alcohol to forget how miserable and fat I felt. Which of course only led to a viscous circle of me putting on even more weight.

I'm currently down to just over 15 stone thanks to cutting out all bread and alcohol out of my diet. That along with exercise has left me feeling a hundred times better about myself. My ultimate goal is taking my son swimming, up until now I have been too embarrassed to go swimming in the pool as I felt like a whale.

Thanks for reading

Aaron.

Hi and welcome to the forum :) Congratulations on the weight loss so far!

I'd suggest having a look at the stickied posts throughout the forum for valuable information, the before-after section for inspiration, and the diary section to see what other people are doing and what's working for them.

Hey Aaron!

I know what you mean when you say: "I have been too embarrassed to go swimming in the pool as I felt like a whale".

I live in a tropical country (Dominican Republic) with a plenty of beautiful beaches. Sadly I have never gone to enjoy the blue sea, I just sit on the sand (jeans & blouse on) and take photo of others. I feel very embarassed to show my arms or legs. No way!

But, we're here with a huge commitment. I know you will make it, too!
Good luck!

Hi Aaron,

I recommend starting a fitness journal in the Weight Loss Diary section. It keeps you on track and everyone on the forum is very helpful and supportive.
