275 pounds to 198

My name is Ben and I am 19, hi. I technically started to lose weight last december, I lost 15 pounds from 275 and gained 5-6 pounds and ended up at around 265 in March. Since March I have been in pretty much 'full force.' Except for the month of july and august, where I didn't lose any weight at 210 but maintained it. I lost 275-220 with the low carb diet, till about July.

I realized like everyone else who does it that it is nearly impossible to stick too and if I had like 50g of carbs in a day I'd gain back 4 pounds randomally. So it wasn't working, and I just switched to counting calories and eating healthy. I don't know why I didn't do this in the first place.

I don't count most days but keep mental notes. I was on and off for working out. I joined a gym about a month ago and have been going 5 times a week. For 2 months I hardly did any excercise but walking. I am now at 198 pounds, it felt SO good to drop under 200 so I decided to find old pictures and newer ones and post them here. Looking at these posts the past couple months have really helped me.

My tips would be to not take it so seriously. It will take time. Force yourself to make healthy decisions on a regular basis. No one is perfect and I have in the past couple months have aten up to 4,000 calories in one day, sometimes the next day too. I have tried for years and always gave up at around losing 10 pounds. I did a TON of research on nutrition, and became a health nut pretty much. Read as much as you can, it is good information and will keep you motivated. I realize that if I don't eat like shit, I won't feel like shit... and I won't look like shit. Fruit and Vegetables are so much more refreshing than sweets once you get used to it.

Don't listen to the voice inside your head that says 'Just this once, I'll be good for 2 weeks straight if I let myself do this.' 'I'm too tired to work out.' Turn off your mind and just do it. It's the only way =/.

K sorry wall of text here are the pictures. By the way, everytime someone takes my picture I am doing something ridicously embrassing like dancing or letting my roomate put make up on me. =( But they are the only ones I have.

I am still hoping to lose 10-30 pounds. Don't really know when it will stop. Hopefully by my 20th birthday in February though.

Hell Yeah!!!

When I think about it.... it really doesn't take long to get on track with getting into shape... My only problem is turning off the crap in my mind and just starting doing whatever I need to do.......

Congratulations! You have a good attitude! And drinking has sooo many calories.... besides... you're not even 21 yet! but that's a another story! No judgement here.... continue to take care of yourself!
 
^^Lol I don't often, I'm in college so its hard not too.
