Hello, my name is Phil.
Like everybody here, just trying to loose some weight. I'm a big meat eater but other than that no other addictions, don't care for sweets, chocolates, chips and sodas... However, my old job didn't do much to help me keep my weight in check, as a chef i pretty much had nice food displayed in front of me all day long. I gained about 50lbs in 2 years even though i tried eating as healthy as possible...

My diet now consists of 300gr of lean meat a day with a large salad (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, cabbage and carrots) juice or water to go with that and that's about it...

Activities include.
Mornings: 3km power walk on the soft sand on the beach + 3km walk/jogging on hard sand. (close to the water)
2 times a week: Rollerskating. 2.5km to the skatepark, skate there for about 2 hours with breaks...then the 2.5km back home.

I'm 27, 5 feet 11 inches. Perfectly healthy (except the extra weight lol) .

I started out at 242lbs (110kgs) on September 22nd.

Sep. 29th = 232lbs.

Next weigh in is tomorrow.

My plan is not to reach a specific weight cause that won't work for me. I did set a weight goal just to give me something to reach for. despite having alot of body fat, i also have alot of muscle, i plan to only get ripped, not get huge muscles.

thoughts? opinions?

Sounds good, I suggest you keeping a small food diary. If that's honestly what you eat everyday you may find boredom will creep in.

What kind of lunches and breakfasts are you having?

I have 2 apps on my iPod that help me and been very usefull: iFitness and Lose it!. The first is excelent for training and keeping logs of measurements, weight and things like that, the second is usefull in the diet department acting as a log and you're able to track results easier...

About the boredoom, I took a friend's "tough atitude" reply to my complaint over this: "If you are bored, just fast... next day I garantee you won't care..." needless to say it worked.

I'm really not a breakfast person, wake up late and eat a fruit 15-30 min before lunch. In the afternoon i have another small fruit. My biggest problem was dinner, I could go the hole day without eating and not be bothered but dinner had to be garanteed. Now i try to drible around it by exercising (bike, skates, running, walking, etc...) to get me tired enough to just hit the bed and sleep.

Progress Report:
Lost 30.1lbs.
Sep 22nd = 242.5lbs
Sep 29th = 232.6lbs
Oct 06th = 223.1lbs
Oct 13th = 212.4lbs

I have two more weeks of heavy dieting, heavy aerobics and light strenth training, after that I will change it to "medium" dieting, heavy aerobics, start weight lifting step it up on strenth training.

I just meant there are other healthy alternatives. You don't have to eat the same foods everyday just because you know they work. Change is good... sometimes.

It's been a long time...

It's been a long time since i payed a visit... actually forgot all about it...
I've reached my goal weight around the end of january, took a little longer but the holidays where tough!!! I don't have a six pack yet but it's a matter of time...

I've started a new goal, that is to get my muscles back in good shape, because of this my diet has changed again... protein shakes, lean meats, eggs, and alot of weight lifting. But i never stoped running or jogging, these things keep me fat free!! =D

Phil signing off at 181.4lbs (Lost 60lbs in 4 months)
bye
