"Yeah he's cute, but I guarantee you'd get anybody you want if you just..lost fifty pounds or so."

Do I want somebody like that? Naw. But I want to be that person. With the body. I've got a lot ahead of me in life...singing...mathematics...computers...guitar :)...tons of motivation. But not in the concept of weight loss.

I'm just watching what I eat; I ate a lot of greasy foods and still do, but not as much. Or better choices IMO (Like a dbl. cheese and a six piece instead of a big mac six piece and fries at mcdonalds (fries are SOOO bad for ya....lol). Subway is expensive but it's better than traditional fast foods.

I'm full italian so I'm a lover of the carbohydrates and just...eating in general. I noticed...I can get by with a Ham sandwich that's like...200 calories! Score ... Add some apple sauce and Carrot Chips w/low fat ranch dip and I'm good...:). For like three hours max.

My goal is to lose two pounds a week until I hit my desired benchmark of 200 lb's. I like being big, just not terribly sloppy, ya know?

My plan's simple and so far, it's harder than I thought it would be...

EATING: Eat all you want, but not as much. Don't eat fries. A six piece at McD's contains 250 Calories. A large fry has like...700. No thanks :). Eat the healthy and low fat stuff first on your plate. One piece of garlic bread instead of four..two meatballs...(HARD TO DO.)

CHUGG water. I'll pee that out so it's all good.

I'm starting to be turned on by fruit (mainly things with apples in them) so I try to eat fruit whenever I...umm...want it. Which is usually a couple times a day.

EXERCISING: Simple. Burn 350 Calories on my treadmill a day. 350(7)= 2450 calories which is pretty good...add in the water weight plus eating better then I should be set.

Etc etc...please and thanks. Need advice and tips.

Well it's good that you have made the decision to lose weight...if you stick with it you wont regret it...thats good that you are being really realistic with your goals so that will prolly prevent a lot of cheating/ binging since you wont feel deprived and its good that you are willing to excerise a lot...excerise is the key to being healthy, happy and losing weight. The one suggestion that i have is that overtime once you get used to cutting back on bad foods try to learn to like and incorporate healthier foods into your diet...i wish you the best of luck!

If I were you I'd steer clear of the Fatty Fast Foods. I know that restaurants like Macdonalds create the illusion that they offer healthy alternatives (salads, yogurt etc) but it can be very deceiving. I'd recomment staying away from it all together. Adjusting to not ordering fries is an improvement, but instead of going from terrible to good, you're going from terrible to 'less bad'.

Subway can be good, just be careful about what kind of condiments you get on your sub. The mayo they use is supposed to be lower in fat than regular mayo, but it can still be very high in fat.

If you're into counting calories, I'd recommend . it's a great resource that helps you track your physical activity, logs your food and eating habits per day and helps you stay on track for your weight loss goals.

By the way - 1 pound = 3500 calories burned (just in case you were confused)

Good luck with it!!

Hi RDubb,
Sometimes the most we can do is to make small modifications in our current diet and go from there.

Best of luck to you and welcome to the WLF :)

Ah, yes I read up on that. I thought it was only twelve hundred for some reason.

I'm having subway tonight, I usually go with the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriayki foot long. I'll go with a six in. tonight and have a few bottles of water. (I've already come a long way, I stay clear of chips and pop about 90 percent of the time). Thank God I don't like Mayo that much...I like honey mustard which tastes like it's full of fat though.

Wimic, obviously fast food isn't good for ya. :) I wouldn't be going there for salads and stuff; I'd rather just not go at all. I'll eventually get to that point of staying clear of them. Sometimes ya gotta take things one step at a time. I figure I'll just stop liking fast food as time passes since I'll be healthier and used to exercise...or at least not eat as much :). But thanks for the input.

Lost three pounds since Thursday! :)

Firstly i would like to say its amazing that you have the courage to post all your information on this site. I am italian also, though, its only 25% its a huge part of who i am which consequently takes a toll on my hips :p I'm 17 and have been sturggling with my weight my whole life so i seriously give anyone all the credit who goes from school to working out to homework and does the same thing everyday because thats pretty much my life lol I've kinda been doing this dieting thing for a while so if u have any questions message me back or something. Goodd luck <3

Slipped and got the footlong. But no drinks or chips like everyone else in my family.

But I honestly felt I deserved it, I probably had a thousand calories max beforehand...then worked out afterwards. I would have felt starved with just the six inch. Plus the 720 for the sammich, I probably had at max; 1800 cal today which is better than the three thousand or so I'm used to.

I wanna have fun losing this weight thing. It will probably take longer overeating to reach my goal...but c'mon, let's be realistic. I'm seventeen so I'm still growing. I don't want to go down to 1200 calories a day and be miserable.

If I continue doing this jog/sprint/brisk walk thing I'm doing on the treadmill everyday (350 calories, takes about 40-60 minutes and 2.5-3 miles roughly)...at least i'll feel great. And I do. Four days into this thing and I already FEEL better...not exactly lighter, but just better.

Eh I'm kinda rambling.

And my god jessica you're right. I have lovehandles :). And...thanks for the compliment. Might as well not lie to yourself, right? Except when you're running 8mi/hr and you tell yourself it's only five :).

Try not to deny yourself too hard out. Getting used to new foods is pretty darned hard.
Just try and shift calories from one meal to the other so you can fit in the odd treat in :)

You should perhaps start up a diary in the Diary threads. (Before and After is for Before and After Photos usually)

I agree with not denying yourself everything--if you do, you'll probably wind up unhappy and wind up giving up. What I'm trying to do is make sustainable lifestyle changes, which seems to go best a little bit at a time. It sounds like your doing the same--good luck with it.

Oh, and do you cook? Making your own food (instead of fast food) even part of the week will give you better control over what you're eating. That, and once you get to college or into the real world, you'll so appreciate the know-how.

At first i was on a strict diet. pretty much no carbs. :( which sounds crazy but after a few days it isnt so bad. i run on my treadmill sometimes.. i use to run everyday about 7 miles but since christmas and my birthday was on the 16th ive kinda been a little lazy..but im gettin back to gettin healthy. i love love fruits and dont usually order anything besides salads when i go out but i do get wraps from subways. the veggie delight well it makes my day to say the least. lol the thing that really gets me motivated is when you think about ur body as kinda of a car and like the food is the fuel and who is going to put shitty fuel into their BMW. so you have to remember to treat yourself high class. it sounds kinda stupid now that im saying it but it makes sense lol:)

ps. im sorry if im not posting these things in the right places.
im usually only on email, myspace ,or aim so this is a bit out of my comfort zone lol
