23 year old, committed & gained 14lbs in 6 weeks already!

Hi all, so a little about my story. I lost my father in January and well, through tough times I stopped caring about my body, stopped eating and really just let myself go. I have never been "in shape" and after a few months of self loathing I decided to make a change.

I was drinking every day and using drugs numerous times a week. I checked myself into a rehabilitation center for drugs and alcohol. After a week I started feeling better and knew that fitness must be a large part of my recovery.

So, I was eating like a horse, and hitting the gym4-5 times a week, allowing muscles to replenish themselves ( I had a trainer)

So, june 16th I weighed 138 lbs. I checked out on July 29th weighing 152 1/2 lbs. Wow, what a difference.

However, I still need to build muscle, ive put on a few pounds but im not satisfied. Im still on my mission.

I know through dieting & nutrition and lifting routines, correct ones, I will reach my goal.

I wanted to ask quickly if there is a workout routine sub forum on here? Im sure ill find out more but I haven't had the time to discover the whole forum here yet.

Thanks all, and an weight/ muscle gaining tricks would be helpful. Im going to buy a weight gainer this week and debating on creatine for a month or two just to help me get to size, and then I will develop a maintenance routine without the creatine, is this a good idea?

Cheers!

Basic program for generic gains are here http://training.fitness.com/weight-...efficient-split-maybe-read-first-3-34522.html
Diet wise eat food rather than relying on supplements, achieving balance and taking in volumes your body can process rather than have to let pass through is easier with real food. Creatine is a bit different but unless you are doing constant very short duration work at the absolute max it is worthless to you, if you are, consider it.

Well done so far.

Hey it's great to hear you've found yourself in love with the fitness lifestyle! i'll start off by saying if you ever have any questions about supplements, dieting, training etc. feel free to ask me, i'm glad to help. When deciding to gain muscle mass there are many factors that are going to come into play; are you looking for lean mass? are you looking to just build strength? or are you just all around looking to be bigger and stronger? whatever route you choose there is a different way to approach your dieting and training. If you're interested let me know your goals and i'll be able to go further into depth with helping you achieve them =) With regards to Creatine; Creatine is an amazing product! your performance in the gym will greatly increase with it's help, although, it's still just a supplement and to get it's full potential a spot on diet will be key! Also be careful with weight gainers! lol I use them on occasion but if you dont track your calories and macronutrients you will end up gaining a lot of fat while using them!
