220 pounds guy here

Hi all,

I am a 22 year old British Indian guy who's decided to address at least one of my body image issues. I am quite hirsute, have gynecomastia and a bad case of back acne. What's more galling is that without wanting to sound arrogant I think I have fairly good looking face, its just my body that doesn't want to fall in line. Anyway, I've decided to get laser hair removal, start aggresively treating my back acne, and if after I lose some weight it still remains (which I'm pretty sure it will) get gynecomastia surgery.

Anyway, as I am fairly broke at the moment I will need to save up for some of my other plans. Weight loss is something I can do now. I am 6'1" and weight 220 pounds, so need to lose about 35 pounds. I've always been fairly big, but very rarely get above the weight I am now, so I assume it is my natural weight - unfortunately it is not a healthy one. Anyway, I live by myself (kind of) and am fairly broke so can't join a gym, so am looking for cheap recipes and exercise techniques.

Hopefully I can get some help and strength from you guys.

Welcome =)

bah gyms are overrated ;) you can do a lot of exercising without any at all. there's an exercise section here, even weights can be replaced with.. dunno bottles of shampoo?

good luck with everything!

Woo hoo my first post.

Anyways, I 100% agree with Sinui about being able to do a lot of exercise without a gym membership. Anything can be used for weight training, just make sure you keep things balanced. They will be some exercises that you cannot do, but using things like cans of soup, bags of rocks, jugs of water, etc can get you started while keeping the cost to a minimum.

walking / jogging / running = free free free cardio. I also hear you can get some good lifts in with laundry soap bottles :) Remember though, exercise is an aid to weight loss, diet is key. How is your diet?
