21year old Groin Injury

Hey Everyone,

So I am a 21 year old and I recently injured my groin (two days ago) on a hip abductor/ adductor machine. I have used this machine many times at my college but I am visiting home and used the same machine at a different gym (i couldn't extend my legs as much as i could at the one at my college) and have had a lot of pain in my inner thighs. I tried heating pads and icing but neither seemed to help and I am still having trouble walking.

Also, my innner thighs seem much larger, is it possible they are just temporarily swollen and will go back to normal? or have I overworked them and built muscle mass? Any help is appreciated

Firstly did you feel pain at the time? or did pain appear after?

To me it sounds like you have performed the exercise with the wrong technique and have possibly over strained the muscle.

I would not apply heat just incase for the first 72 hours if pain is disappearing day by day, then just rest and do a few mins of light stretching until your feel okay. If pain still persists see your doc, groin pain should not be taken lightly and high intensity training should not be performed until you are 100%.
