Hi, all
I'm new to this site and pretty much new to forums, so if I slip up don't flame or troll me or whatever because I can't afford a super injunction.
I started weight training 5 days a week when I was 16 and 20 years later I'm still at it. I started studying psychology about 10 years ago and became a PT about 5 years ago. I''m on here as I like to give advice on anything fitness (or psychology) related as much as possible, plus as I used to be a novelist it's a way to get my writing fix.
After all those years of training I've made just about every mistake it's possible to make and had plenty of injuries, which is why I decided to start from the beginning and actually learn how to do it right. Which in my opinion that pretty much means ignore 99% of the stuff you read in magazines, on the internet, or are told in the gym, including by the people that work there. Note: Before you get all flustered and bang out some hate mail - I work in a gym!
In the last 5 years I've had more gains in size and strength than the previous 15 combined, all without a single injury.
I'm always eager to learn more and I'm still learning. The last time I learnt something big was about 4 weeks ago and I immediately put it into my workout, since when I've gained an inch on my biceps!
I don't claim to know everything (be very wary of anyone that does) in fact I don't claim to know anything. All I'm on here to do is give you my opinion based on my experience and the best of my knowledge at that time.
David.
PS Having read that back I don't know why you'd listen to me but what the hell, someone might!
