20 lbs before the wedding or bust...

Alright. I'm a slacker. A big one. I KNOW it. And I also know that I have never been so successful on this whole dieting and exercise thing than when I was connected to this board and these people.

Well here I am, 20 lbs over weight - scared to try on my wedding dress for fear it won't fit. I have a little over three months to get myself back to where I was (losing at least 10 lbs) so that everything will fit and I can feel better about myself.

And it starts now.

Rules:
1) only 2 snacks per day - they can be anytime during the day that works
2) no eating 2 hours before bed (working on some acid reflux issues)
3) must get 64 oz water/day
4) must exercise 3 hours a week - in whatever form or fashion that looks like
5) must limit calories to 1200 first week, gradually increasing to maintenence level (1800
) - using caloric cycling

bkfst: low sugar oatmeal (110,15f)
snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese (140,50) + 1/2 T honey (30,0)
lunch: yogurt (100,0) + ham sandwich (340, 75) + apple (70,2)
snack: box of raisins (130,0)
dinner: spicy indian chicken (230, 65) + jasmine rice (100,0) + broccoli (25,0) + toast (100,25)

total cals: 1385, 232 (goal 1200 calories)
exercise: 25 min walking to & from gym(-100) + 45 min elliptical (-450 cals)
h2o: 24 + 24 + 24

READY. SET. GO!

I am at similar weight and goal, also trying to kick those 20 pounds that keep me from looking amazing... or maybe not ;) but keep me from being happy with myself!

well, over calories yesterday. It was SOOOOO hard not to eat after dinner. Especially when my fiance got out a bowl of ice cream w/ caramel syrup =( He wasn't trying to be mean, and about two bites in he felt really really bad, but I told him to enjoy. He is over 6' tall and weighs as much as I do. He's trying to put on pounds while I'm trying to lose and it makes eating difficult for us.

lunch: ham & 2 eggs (200,35) + toast (125, 25)

And I know how it feels when you can't eat stuff like ice cream except on the very very occasional time, and someone close to you can eat it and not gain a pound. My sister's like that. :)

Looks like you're eating very well! Keep it up! Those pounds will be gone in no time!
 
ack! i've done it again.. posted a time or two and then took some days off. EVERYDAY I need to post here... EVERYDAY!!! =)

bkfst: cheerios & skim (150,5)
snack: 1/2 c. cottage cheese (120,45) + 1/2 T honey (30,0)
lunch: lean cuisine chicken florentine lasagna (280,50)
dinner: tons of chips and salsa and guacamole, plus flour tortilla nachos =( and two margaritas =(
snack: 2 beers w/ my honey + macaroni & cheese =(

total cals: =( (goal 1200 calories)
exercise: 25 min walking to and from gym + 45 min elliptical + arm weights
h2o: 24+ 24 + 16

It felt SOOOO good getting to the gym again this morning. It has been since Friday I guess that I had gone. I need to keep it up! and I also need to figure out what to do for the summer (as I would have to pay for gym usage). Should I just run outside and lift free weights? or should I join the Y? or should i pay for school gym? too many options.

Wedding stuff is coming along. This weekend we finished planning out the invitations and printed them and now my fiance is working on putting all the pieces together. We are doing 1/2 diy and 1/2 preordered stuff. He really wanted to have a wax seal on the outside of the invitation, and found out they make glue seals (like with a glue gun) , and as we were experimenting, figured out we could use regular glue gun glue and have clear imprinted seals. and they look pretty nifty! and are WAY cheaper =) *sigh* soooo much work to do!

It's also finals around school. I have one paper and two exams to finish studying for. one week and the semester is absolutely finished.
 
How can I start days so well and finish them so poorly. I need to get my game on!

lunch: fat conversion activity bar (150,25)
snack: turkey sandwich, wheat bread, low fat mayo (350,70)
dinner: chicken quesadilla skillet pastaroni thingy (370,135)

total cals: 1120, 265 (goal 1200 calories)
exercise: umm... sprained my ankle walking out the door =(

i'm doing the 21 day club thingy in the club section... and my goals are 4.5 hours of exercise a week and no binging after 5pm... less than 600 calories during that time period (which I think works b/c that would be dinner and one snack)

ack!

I'm heading out right now to exercise... and i just had a fat conversion bar, so hopefully it will help burn more fat calories... who knows if it works or not!

riiiiiight. I get up all the energy and courage to walk out the door and run for 45 minutes.... and I eat an energy bar... and i have my workout clothes on... and I head out with my water and my mp3 player... and before I even get off of my property, i sprain my ankle stepping in a hole.

ARGH!

I'm able to walk on it tonight - its a mild sprain and hopefully by the end of the week i'll really be able to exercise. Maybe I can bike at the gym without bothering it? who knows.
 
good news about yesterday... I did good with my calories!!! I typically don't like to eat less than 1200, b/c they you don't have enough - but one day after a bunch of binging can't hurt.

I'm also drinking a lot more coffee in these next few days, b/c its finals... but i'm at least using soy creamer!

bkfst: cheerios w/ skim (150,5) + coffee (65,20)

lunch: chicken salad (415,150?) + pita (165,5) + spiced tea (50,0?)

the only thing I can say is: at least I was honest.

not to make excuses... but it is finals... and the pizza and beer break was exactly what I needed at the time.
 
*sigh* thanks everyone! =)

I guess the good news is that the pizza and beer (and one small scoop of ice cream) got me through the whole night.. I was up until 4 working on my paper and usually that would entail lots and lots and lots of snacking. And there was none of that.

Good news, papers are done.... one exam in half an hour, and another on Tuesday. my work is almost done!!!!

And I can totally walk fine now, so I'm gonna try to go for a jog this afternoon.

I think my scale is broken.... b/c after all that pizza, I can't weigh less.

You gotta remember to get that exercise in today. It will really help to alleviate that stress from writing all those papers. You also need to stay away from that type of food. Do you really think that you are going to lose 20 lbs before your wedding by doing that? You have a goal, NOW GO GET IT!!! We are here to help but you gotta want it.

We have similar goals so I thought I'd check out your journal! I'm looking to lose about 10-20 pounds in order to fit (well) into my wedding dress. I too am a HUGE slacker who loves snacking. I noticed in your first few posts you did great all mornign and slid off in the afternoon, that's definitely ME! lol. I always get up, drink tons of water, eat a great breaky and lunch and then soemtime around 3 or 4 start to slip.

Great that you've set short term, attainable goals for yourself! I should make a list like that!
