Hi, I'm Michelle I am 20 years old and after gall bladder surgery and bad eating habits I have gain weight on top of being over weight and now I weight 200 lbs. I am 5'9 so it is a little less noticeable than if I were 5'0 ft tall. But I feel unhealthy, un-pretty and plain old fat. I here to have a support group through my journey. I plan on losing 50lbs by September and learn better eating habits and how to use my college budget and eat well. I hope I can help others through their journey to healthier life and better self as well.

A little about me... I currently am a college student studying hospitality and tourism. I've struggled with weight all through out my life. I over eat and go to food when I have depressive moments. Living in a Hispanic home did not help either, big portions and greasy meals are norm in my home. In college I hoped that I would eat better. I weighted 180lbs when i came to college and gain 15lbs eating bad cafeteria food and late night taco bell. Last summer I tried to lose weight and successfully lost 25 pounds and for the first time in 3 years i weighted 170lbs. But as soon as I came back for the fall semester I gained 10lbs back. In the spring semester I had emergency gall bladder surgery. I remained at 180 but when I began to eat normal again I gained the weight and some. I reached my all time high of 200lbs I never believed I could get that big and unhealthy. I want to be healthy and like working out, which now I do none of, and be happy young person and not worry about weight.

Please contact me and reply to thread I surely will appreciate all the support!

Hi Shelly! Welcome!
Iv only been here a few weeks myself and it seems to be a very motivational and supportive bunch here on the forum. One thing i sugest to everyone trying to loose weight is CHIA SEEDS!!! organic, grade, theyre inexpensive (seeing as your on a college wage:p) they are a small poppy seed like seed and they swell into an almost tp a allmost tapioca like thing when put in liqued. (ie-yout belly) i mix them with lemon water and just drink them, you can add them to ANYTHING! they are tasteless, loaded with fiber, calcium, magnesium, help with digestion among other benifts. Look them up online. sooo because they swell in your stomach they trigger you to feel fuller longer! and im not just giving you a load of BS its not a gimic and i dont sell them, but i DO swear by them and there natural, obviously, there a seed. :)
